Hey, hey! Ghostie here to review this lovely piece of art.

First off, from an author to and author.
WOW. This is great. Short and to the point. Hah. Get it? 'cause it's....Nevermind. Anyway. Good job!

Let's go line by line rather, since they're short, sentence by sentence.
Line One: "Sharp and blunt and shiny."
Sharp and blunt are exact opposites?! Moving on. xD
Line two: "Coarse and cut and blood-drawing."
Yes, that tends to be what knives do. No comment.
Line Three: "'Handle with care' it says."
Hah. Get it? Handle. 'Cause....Ughhhh too many bad jokes lol. Yes, this is a very good line. :)
Line Four: "I am not one to break the rules. So carefully, carefully!"
Building up the suspense? I approve.
Line Five: "I take it and put it in its place."
Great finale! I loved every bit of this poem. But where exactly is "its place?"

Concluding notes:
This was such a great poem and I'm jealous that it wasn't written by me. Hahaha. But seriously, keep it up!
Overall....10/10 stars! AMAZIIIING. Trust me, I don't grade lightly. Most people get between 4 and 6. Even the good ones to me don't usually get past 8. Congrats. :)

Hi there! First of all, the title instantly drew me in to read this poem and I'm glad I did because although it is quite short, that is all that it needs to be because it concisely yet powerfully portrays the topic. I really like the way in which you've laid out the poem, with lots of enjambment and technique. I think this poem is really effective in giving almost an eerie feeling too - well done it's really awesome! .

Hi,

The contrast between "sharp" and "blunt" is good. It's good that while writing you thought of the importance of drawing attention to the dual functions of knives by citing contrasting qualities. But, this is quite elementary usage of the contrasting imagery. It seems forced. Of course, your entire poem is forced and slimline (like a good knife) which is not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it's probably a very good thing here. Your fragmentation of sentences into these lines is actually quite effective at evoking a harrowing and eerie feeling. Good job. And the ending was splendid.

Hey RedRage,
first of all I love this. Most people will rarely do a take on the knife itself and not its usage and how it is being used. I love how well you describe the physical knife using contrasting and opposite adjectives such as sharp and blunt. My one note on this was it would be cool if you could describe more than the physicality of the knife... if you could almost give it life by giving it human aspects like compassion or hate... that's just a thought. My other note on this would be for you to break up the stanzas, it would make it a little more dramatic in doing so.
I have one personal thought on this and I don't know if you intended it this way but the last stanza where you say you put it in its place, it sounds as if you are killing someone at the end as if you were placing the knife through their heart. One note that if this is what you intended then hats off to you for so subtlety implying this, and if it wasn't intentionally implied I still love it.
Congratulations on what seems to be your first wok and good luck to all future works.

well since you came and took a visit to one of my poems i will vist yours too lol.
ok time for the reviewing
it is very blunt and yes it does describe the knife so it a clear msg and your someone putting it away but i feel like you could of took it to a higher lever but i do like how you kept it plain and simple so you get a thumb up from me and if u got any more to show i would gladly look at these too.oh and i think you need to add some spacing like
I am not one

to break the rules.

So carefully,

carefully!

I take it

and put it

in its

place.

just do a spacing like that so it somewhat like verses ok that all i have to say about this poem

Thank you for ur recommendation! I have a few poems that I did that with, so i think it's a good idea and I will definitely use it in my next poem

Everything has to be taken on trust; truth is only that which is taken to be true. It's the currency of living. There may be nothing behind it, but it doesn't make any difference so long as it is honoured. One acts on assumptions. What do you assume?
