Dream Adventures (Needs work)

by RedMoon

Moonlit rooms and starry beams,
In my bed I sleep and dream.
While light dances 'round my face,
Dreams of horses prance in place.

Pretty horses, wild and free
Race around in happy glee
And while forest surrounds us in peaceful calm
To the river we are drawn.

A boat lays anchored on the shore,
And I climb in and lay weight to my oar.
The horses crowd on sandy beach
And give a whinny, a farewell treat.

As the water carries me to
An unknown place, out on the blue,
I lay back and hum a happy tune
And wait until I see a dune.

A sandy dune on a far away island
Where only wind has swept the sand.
I pull my boat onto shore and squint,
And walk, my footsteps leaving sandy prints.

After walking for a while
I spy a tree off from a mile
And underneath it's leafy boughs,
I see a bed and somehow

It does not feel strange to see
A bed beneath a large palm tree.
As my head lays on the bed,
I hear a nicker and turn my head.

The last thing I see before sleep claims me
Is a rearing white horse beckoning me,
And as the sun peaks through my bedroom windows,
I smile as I remember my dream adventures.

NOTE: Note that I have never written a poem before today. If it is horible feel free to chuck it out the window. :D.
