Where I’m From
I am from paper,
from worlds that I have never heard
but I can see them clearly.
I am from black letters resting on white pages,
some that come from my hand and some that are found.
I am from shelves of books,
other people say
my haven is called Alib Rary.
I would like to meet this person.
I am from the country of the dragon,
filled with red and yellow.
I am from loud drums and firecrackers
and night time dances.
I am from bright nights,
loud nights,
And nights full of vehicles and people.
I am from big families,
and faces I don’t know,
but we are close like families are.
I am from new teachers
who don’t know my name.
I am from the number eleven,
in Roman Numerals.
I am from stereotypes,
expectations,
and unwanted titles.
I am from geek,
nerd,
overachiever,
tryhard,
loner,
and introvert.
I am from eight years old,
best friend,
and jealousy.
I am from a knife stabbed,
a knife that was thrown.
a woosh,
a thud.
I am from confusion,
frustration,
and FEAR.
Fear of people,
unable to trust again.
Fear of death,
unable to believe again.
I am from fake smiles
and hidden emotions.
I am from mistakes,
from regrets.
I am from a new beginning,
moving away from what has once hurt me.
I am from healing,
to smile again.
I am from learning,
to laugh it off.
I am from growing,
to be patient.
I am from the past that shaped me.
I am from the future that changes me.
I am from the present that inspires me.

Hello, Aulyasela3597 here!
It feels like I'm taking a tour inside your head, knowing your thoughts and dreams, makes me understood your character in depths. I also like how you wrote people having many levels and the realistic of the character's life are spot on! You did it well with the grammatical, spellings and using the metaphors and similes!

I'd like to say that this is the most emotional yet strong poem I ever read! Cool words and a great concept! I'm blown away
I would love to see more of your literary works! Keep writing and stay inspired, dear friend
Warm regards,
Aulyasela3597
Hi there
Restlessheart here,
This is a really cool poem, I think its free verse? but correct me if I'm wrong. I will start with some negatives.
"from worlds that I have never heard"
With this idea are you trying to say worlds you have never heard OF? Otherwise I'm not sure how to hear multiple worlds unless you're yoda and are pulling out your inner jedi
"I am from shelves of books,
other people say
my haven is called Alib Rary."
This stanza *in my opinion* seemed a little awkward... particularly in the way it was separated. I feel like it's saying that other people say you are from shelves of books not that your haven is a library? but maybe that was your intention. I am confused why you separated "library" like you did, in the next line you say it is a person but does that mean your "haven" is a person?
"I am from big families,
and faces I don’t know,
but we are close like families are."
Maybe don't use families as both your metaphor and simile. It's like defining a word with the word you are defining.
"I am from new teachers
who don’t know my name."
I'm not sure which part of you this describes.
"I am from the number eleven/ I am from eight years old"
Are the numbers defining a lucky number or your age?
Negatives overall, not too bad the gist was not impeded in most of your comparisons. The repetition of "nights" might have been a little much but it was an interesting concept.
Postives:
"I am from black letters resting on white pages,"
This. This is beautiful. The contrasts perfectly compliment one another.
"I am from stereotypes,
expectations,
and unwanted titles."
This stanza really connects with your reader (at least for me) because I feel like a lot of people can see themselves associated with those roles.
In the end of your poem beginning with "I am from Stereotypes"..., I like how you wrote the person as having many levels. Your character (whether it's your describing yourself or fictional) is deep and you made sure it was known. I think this is very realistic because in today's world people have many layers.
To finish, I really liked your poem. There is great potential in your metaphors and similes and your realism is hard hitting, emotional not fluffy. I like reading a poem with some meat on its bones.
~Keep writing I look forward to reading more,
