An Illusion

Humans living on this earth believe life has no end;

That an enemy is always an enemy

And your friend remains your friend.

They think silver shall stay silver

and gold shall remain gold.

They think young stays young forever

and once old, always old.

They think a fire keeps on burning

and snow stays on the ground,

But people need to realize that these things won't stick around.

Bodies don't last forever,

Loved ones pass away.

An enemy may become ally

and friends don't always stay.

Silver and gold get melted down

and stolen in the night.

Before you know it babes grow up;

They sprout wings and take flight.

Old can either turn to dust

Or come back into style.

Fire sputters and turns to ash,

sun melts the snowy pile.

We need to learn to cherish all earth's beauties while we can

We need to learn to value the life of  fellow man.

Forever's an illusion; on earth it's make-believe.

Behold earth's treasures here and now, for one day they shall leave.
