So I want to say, I know this kinda stinks. I wrote it in, like, 15 minutes...so it needs a lot of work. I know. But I wanted to get it out there to get opinions on whether it's even worth editing...you know? And I want to know exactly what I could do to make it better! So thanks so much for reading!! And I do not own the song, just really like it. Should I put the lyrics on? And would this be considered fanfiction? I don't know but for now let's say no. ;)
The tears finally fell. Everything he was saying made perfect sense. I completely agreed, and that was why it hurt so much. His eyes were misty too, as he sat, explaining his jealousy when I became friends with Matt, and how he had seen Matt kiss me. I opened my mouth to tell him, once again, that I had pushed him away, but Alex shook his head before I could. “I know,” he said. I never thought the relationship between Matt and I would go that far.
I told him about how jealous I was over him and Emily’s relationship. He smiled sadly, knowing that I had felt the same things he had. Something just wasn’t the same between us. We didn’t really see each other anymore. It was like…we were just…different…somehow.
He brushed his rain-soaked hair out of his midnight blue eyes. I got distracted by the way they matched the sky right now. Or at least, the part of the sky that showed through the storm clouds. Those eyes that I had lost myself in so many times, looked into mine as he said, “But I don’t want to lose you.”
I threw myself into his arms and buried my face in his chest. I wondered idly why my heart didn’t stutter when he wrapped his arms around me, like it used to. “I don’t want to let you go,” I mumbled into his shirt. I knew he heard me, because he dipped his head to kiss my hair. I listened for his heartbeat. It stayed steady, even as his lips drew away, just like my heartbeat did.
The loss of something as strong as what we had was…terrifying. It echoed through my body like waves crashing against the shore. Thunder crashed and lightning lit up the sky above our heads. I pulled away from him and looked up at the clouds. I remembered everything. Our love had been so real. I knew it, he knew it, even Matt and Emily knew it. When we had had our first kiss, it was like I lived and breathed for this boy. Alex. The boy that I had been in love with since…forever. We’d slow dance around my room to beautiful songs. He’d take me out to dinner and a movie. We shared so many special moments. So many, that even if we stopped making new moments, I thought, the memories would always last.
I looked back into his eyes and he looked into mine. I knew we both felt it, and it was time. Time to say, “It’s over.” So that’s what we did.
The thing is, just because you don’t love someone the way you used to, when you hear those words, it’s like a part of your heart has been torn away. Because that meant there would be no more special, secret moments between us. I guess that’s why tears were streaking down both our faces. Maybe that’s why, even as I thought, “I should leave him alone.” I didn’t want to. I didn’t want to be alone. And I could see that he didn’t either.
So we sat. Two people, who didn’t know what they were to each other anymore—was he my ex? Or my friend?—sitting on the edge of the sidewalk. We didn’t talk anymore, there was pretty much nothing left to say. We didn’t touch either. But it was comforting, knowing that somebody was here with me. Somebody was here to get me through the storm.

First off, may I say that I love where you are going with this? For fifteen minutes worth of writing, this is just pretty darn awesome!
On to the reviewing part. Like I have already said, I love it. You portray her emotions very vividly, and that is an accomplishment worthy of applause. However, I would like to know more about why they broke up in the first place, but you may be waiting to reveal that later in the story.
And maybe give more detail on what happened. He saw her kiss another man, but did he see her do it a couple of days ago, or minutes before the scene?
Those are really the only criticisms I have to give. Keep up the good work, I know that I want to hear more!
Thank you so much! I wasn't planning on doing much with this but maybe I will now
thanks!
