✦Rain falls quickly wetting my hair, and clothes✦

✦My cries fall upon her deaf ears; more tears✦
His eyes shone yellow and glossy as he gazed at you. His love for you as bright as the stars in the sky. You were such a beautiful sight; with the crown of the sun settling its gaze on you, lighting you up in ways he'd never seen before. Your fingers tore at the ground, tugging out grass as you sat in utter silence. Dirt trapped in the spaces between your skin and nail. Your head was turned to the sky; a beautiful shade of azure. You looked so delicate this way, in your most vulnerable state. He could tear you apart with ease. Just a bit longer, though. So he could take in your image before he tore it to shreds. Nothing could be more magnificent than you, dead. Of course, he'd have to prepare to make your death as alluring as possible. This was a fantasy he'd been dreaming of for awhile. You're to fragile to face the reality that is life; besides, this way you could spend all of your time, together.
✦Let me in, please it's cold✦
✦I'm freezing out here, I miss you my dear✦
"Hey, darling, come closer." He was craving for the touch of your skin, the warmth in your hands. You hesitated for a moment, scooting over a bit.You were already practically so close you could hear him breathing. Heavily and fast paced. His hand hovered over yours a moment, before resting upon yours. His eyes lingered on your form; the look in them made you nauseous. Hungry eyes and bad intentions. "Don't look so frightened my dear." You tensed up, as he ran his fingers down your arm, dawdling. His touch sending shivers down your spine. He leered, the look on your face was so pleasing, he wanted more. He ventured away from your arm, cupping your cheek. He had never been so bold in his movements before, and you felt quite dismayed. He was always a bit off, just the way he spoke made you ill at ease; but you never payed any mind to it. "Look at me." His hand was sweaty and much too warm on your skin. You gazed into his flaxen eyes, which were striving for your attention. He spoke in a hushed sound, "Don't ever leave me, okay?" You nodded, his grip on you easing.
✦You're all his and I'm all yours✦
✦Like it or not, I'm all you've got✦
He spoke your name so softly, leaning against you. His hand slithering off your cheek. "You're so warm.." His face buried in the crook of your neck, his breath hot against your skin. You were as stiff as a rock by this point, bewildered, almost. He was acting so strangely; almost as a lover would. His hand maneuvered off of yours, the crisp afternoon air making you beg for it back. "May I.. kiss you?" Your eyes widened and your heart beat quickened, you attempted to pull away but his grip on you tightened. "I said don't leave.. please.." You could hear the plead in his voice, the neediness. He wrapped his arms around your form, he needed to be so much closer to you, he wanted to feel your heartbeat, taste your skin. He implored, clinging to your body. "Just one kiss.. I want to know.." He paused. "What you taste like." His hands ran up and down your sides, exploring. He craved you so bad, although you were already here, he needed more. He needed your love and affection. He inhaled deeply, licking your neck. You tasted so sweet, and he loved every moment of it. You struggled out of his grasp; the air seemingly getting more sultry.
✦Everyone will make mistakes✦
✦Without the sour the sweet wouldn't taste✦
He could feel your muscles tense up, your breathing quicken. The terrorized look in your eyes diminishing his famine. You felt the need to shout, but nothing came out. Your throat was clogged and your lips felt as if they were glued shut. The only sound that came out of your mouth was a whimper. The tips of his mouth turned up at the sound. "That was adorable dear. Let me hear more." He dug his nails into your skin; and you inhaled deeply. You mewled in angst like a mouse stuck in a trap. He bit the skin on your neck, and you clawed at his back; skirmishing out of his hold on you. He was the bird and you were the worm. You kicked at his stomach, but it was almost like he was immune to pain. He sneered, baring his teeth, "Anything from you my dear, I'll take with a smile." The corners of your eyes glistened, as you realized resisting was futile. Blood ran down your neck, he must have broken through the skin. He placed light kisses along your neck, but that didn't soothe the awful feeling in your stomach.
✦Light cuts through the clouds and haunts me, like bad dreams✦
✦Outside looking in I'm feeling lost and cold as sin✦
He lifted his head from your neck, and moved to your mouth. You attempted to swivel away from him, only for him to pull you back. He growled, leaning in closer, "Stop resisting.." His lips tasted foul, of cigarettes and smoke. Your clenched your teeth, blocking any entrance he would try to force in. Eyes wide and distressed, you couldn't stop the tears from falling down your face. He murmured against your lips, gasping for air, "Don't cry, love, I just want to taste you..." He kissed your cheek. "You taste so sweet, how could I resist?" You sniveled, lip quivering. At this point your body was quaking in fear, but you couldn't find the air to scream.
✦A shred of hope a little bit of sweetness - anything please, except for defeat✦
✦If I could I'd lock you up and toss out the key, it's just you and me✦
He was having such a fantastic time tormenting you; the expression on your face was the best part of it. As much as he'd like to continue, he had a specific time limit here. If he wanted to make your death as beautiful as possible, he needed sunlight. He ran his fingers through your hair, combing through it. He muttered against your ear, hot breath making you shutter. "Do you love me?" He knew the answer, and it wasn't positive; though, he just wanted to hear the words come out of your mouth. Even if they were just from fear. He needed to hear you tell him you love him; for when you're dead, you can't say a sound. You nodded your head briskly. "Say it." He snickered, playing with your hair like you were some sort of doll. You force the words out of your mouth, hands trembling.
"I love you."
✦Everyone will make mistakes (and I know I have)✦
✦Without the sour the sweet wouldn't taste and✦
His eyes twinkled with delight, and hinted at something else. Something more sinister. He reached into his pocket, you're nerves settling as it was just a pack of cigarettes, along with a lighter. You just studied his expression, but all you saw was a blank canvas with the eyes of a hawk. With a flick of a switch, he lit the cigarette, breathing in the smoke. Which he blew into your face; resulting in you being a coughing mess. You motioned the smoke away with a wave of a hand. He gave a chortle. "Sorry, dear.' With that, you could no longer breathe though your mouth. Your screams of terror were but a muffled whisper. You kicked and squirmed out of his grasp, swaying your head side to side in a failed attempt. You couldn't think straight; your thoughts a jumbled mess, dread filled every corner of your mind. He muttered a few words in your ear, "You can't phase me." Your heart was practically pounding out of your chest "I love you too much, and I know you all too well. You're just fighting for survival, and that's fine." He paused, thinking. "But reality is such an awful place, don't you think?" You nodded your head attempting to please him. "That's why I'd like to remove you from it, permanently."
"Of course, I'd have to kill you, but that's alright! I'll be as gentle as possible." You frantically clawed at his chest. "Wouldn't that be a great way to go? Killed by someone who loves you." He sighed. "How romantic, don't you think? Oh! Sorry, forgot, you can't speak." He burnt out the cigarette on your neck; such a painful sensation.
"You know, it's hard for me too. I considered killing myself too, but who would look after your dead body?" His eyes were someplace else. "I mean, honestly. I can't stop thinking about you. You're like an addiction, and if I'm away from you for a short amount of time I can't function properly, and it's driving me insane." His voice cracked. "I just want you to feel the same. But I know you would never love me like I love you, and that's just not fair."
"So, I'll make it fair. We both can suffer now. Together. Wonderful, right?"
✦Sweet tangerine, will you please come back to me?✦
✦Cause I don't think that these feelings are gonna leave✦
You grit your teeth as he twists your arm in a way its not supposed to bend. Your nails dig into the ground as you hear a crack; and pain flows through the entirety of your arm. Your vision grows blurry as tears fill your eyes to the brim. You feel nauseous, you're having a hard time breathing. This unnatural way that your arm is bending is unsettling, and you can't stand it. The sharp, jarring pain that you can only describe as agonizing. His voice sounds apologetic, mixed with satisfaction. "Sorry, love. That sound was so sweet, I'd like to hear it again." You mentally prepare yourself for whatever he plans for you next, but the throbbing pain in you arm is become unbearable. You clench your hands into a fist, digging your nails into your skin, the pain not nearly as awful as the pain in your right arm. He twists your second arm just as easily as the last. You bite your tongue, the taste of metallic filling your mouth as you feel the crack. It getting harder to breathe, you're gasping for air. You don't have the strength to scream, or do anything, really. Just lay there in agonizing pain as you accept your fate. One hand on your mouth and another on your nose, he's blocking any air from getting into your lungs. You feel like you're drowning, and it's not a pleasant feeling. You're vision is seemingly getting more blurry, and you assume its not just from the tears. Your lungs are pleading for air, and your heart rate slows down.
"Goodnight darling. Sweet dreams."
✦Sweet melody, you'll be singing in your sleep✦
✦But this time you're not listening to a word I say✦

Wow, this whole thing reads a little like a poem because of the interrupting song lyrics. (At least, I assume they’re song lyrics.) I love their use. The whole thing does a really good job being creepy and uncomfortable.

Question: did you switch viewpoints on purpose, to show us how “he” views the relationship (i.e. as romantic relationship but aware that “you” don’t love him as much as “he” loves you) vs. “you” trying to be nice but feeling overall pretty creeped out by him?

Because you did switch viewpoints—for example, here.

He could feel your muscles tense up, your breathing quicken. The terrorized look in your eyes diminishing his famine. You felt the need to shout, but nothing came out. Your throat was clogged and your lips felt as if they were glued shut.

And it does generally seem like the relationship is defined more as romantic when we’re in “his” head, while the whole thing is really uncomfortable and seems rapey when we’re in “your” head, except for this spot.

His hand maneuvered off of yours, the crisp afternoon air making you beg for it back.

Based on how scared “you” seem when we’re in “your” perspective, it’s odd to show that “you” miss the feel of his hand on your face in this line. Additionally, there was this line.

He was acting so strangely; almost as a lover would.

I was confused here because “almost as a lover would” implies that “he” isn’t a lover, but the way he’s been thinking, talking, and acting makes it seem like he is a lover. Which, if he thinks that way when we’re in his head is okay, because he has a distorted view of the relationship. But he’s also been calling “you” things like “dear” and “darling,” which, I mean, you’d think the “you” in the story would shut down if they were not, in fact, in a romantic relationship.

If you didn’t intend to switch perspectives at all, then you need to clear up whose perspective we should be in (presumably “yours”) and write accordingly so we can see how the viewpoint character views the relationship.

Also, the dialogue. I’m a bit torn about this. The editor part of me really, really wants to see it separated out rather than run together in the paragraph. So instead of this…

It’d be like this.

He gave a chortle. "Sorry, dear.'
With that, you could no longer breathe though your mouth. Your screams of terror were but a muffled whisper. You kicked and squirmed out of his grasp, swaying your head side to side in a failed attempt. You couldn't think straight; your thoughts a jumbled mess, dread filled every corner of your mind.

"That's why I'd like to remove you from it, permanently."

But then the writer part of me realizes it was probably a stylistic choice to make the song lyrics stand out more by being the only separate lines. Alternatively, you could italicize the song lyrics, but I feel like you don’t even need to do that—you’ve got those diamonds enclosing them, so I think we would know where they are even if you separated the dialogue like normal. I’ll leave that up to you, but I wanted to at least point it out and make suggestions.

The concept here is interesting, and you definitely have a knack for writing immersive detail, as well as emotion. The last paragraph in particular is very powerful as you do a wonderful job of making the reader feel completely out of comfort by using those specific, detailed body parts. Very well done.

But in stories like these, I would be careful that the detail doesn't drown out the story that you're trying to tell. When it does, you always have something happening, but something happens so slow that it doesn't end up being as riveting for a reader as it possibly could be. But overall, I think the unique style and strong attention to emotion makes this a really good story. Thanks for sharing.
