We weren't like other couples, that much we knew.
We thought playing video games and watching youtube videos was a better date than going out to dinner. We thought rainy days were perfect because then we had an excuse to stay inside. We were happy. We were in love. And we still are today. But one day was the most amazing of them all; the day we went to Santa Monica.
The details were all set. With her being in Kansas, and I in Maine, it was difficult being with her. But we both felt so strongly, and we refused to give up soley because of distance. 'Distance only makes the heart grow fonder' we agreed.
We agreed to meet at the pier. We both loved the site, and wanted to visit the Fourth Of July carnival there. I was so nervous about meeting her for the first time. We knew everything about each other, what we looked like, how we acted, everything. But, what if she didn't want me like she thought she would? Or worse- what if it was me who would have the mistaken feelings? I shivered at the thought.
Nevertheless, I swallowed my anxiety and stepped out of the car as we arrived at the meeting place.
We had decided to meet just outside the pier at noon. The road that connected the pier itself to the rest of the city, just a narrow stretch of concrete, held the most beautiful girl I had seen in my life. "Jaslyn.." I whispered in awe and disbelief.
The sunlight reflected off of her caramel-colored skin, giving her a sweet, light glow. She had on curled black hair, tight, blue jeans, and her signature "Midnight Beast" T-shirt. She was standing on the side of the pier, leaning on the railing and staring dreamily out at the ocean- a slight smile across her lips. I smiled too, just seeing her felt so surreal.
I shook my head, took out my phone and sent her a quick text: "Turn around". As soon as I hit send, I started moving my way toward her at a brisk walk. By the time I was nearly half-way there, she took out her phone and read the message aloud softly "Turn around..." By then, I was no more than a ten meters behind her.
As she turned around, and her eyes immediately lit up, her smile grew wider, and she ran towards me. I did the same. I focused on that sweet, beautiful face that I had been so intent on seeing all this time. Time itself seemed to slow down as we ran, then sped up as we neared each other. At the moment where we collided, i hugged her by the waist and spun her around as i lifted her up off the ground.
She giggled like a child and hugged me tightly, her arms wrapped around my neck. When I set her on the ground, we moved apart just enough to see each others face. She had tears streaming down her face, and by the warm sensation on my face, I could tell that I did, too. "I'm so glad you're here." She said through happy sobs "I couldn't have asked for anything more perfect."
I smiled gently and spoke sweetly "To me, you
are the most perfect thing." She looked away bashfully and I seized the oppertunity. I placed my hand on her chin, angling her face towards mine. Before she could react, I pressed my lips to hers, giving her a kiss that we had both craved for the last year. Her body shook, but I held her close, and slowly, I pulled my lips away from hers.
She looked up at me with those sparkling brown eyes and gave me a look. It was somewhere between gratitude and happiness. "Thank you..." She whispered lightly. "My pleasure" I said with a smile. "Shall we?" she said breaking the embrace and extending her hand. I took her hand smiled.

First Impression: This kicks things off rather nicely here. I think you've done quite a good job with this piece. Its very wholesome and rather simple, but you bring it across really well here and it leaves you with a smile on your face.
Anyway let's get right to it,
Okay...this is an interesting start here. Its a pretty wholesome situation at any rate, and its one of these rather sweet ones where as the reader you're always paranoid something horrible is just around the corner waiting to happen. At any rate, it makes for a pretty exciting start that way.
OKay...so this is all proceeding in that wholesome vein so far, it looks like nothing bad is going to happen...yet...things are actually going according to plan and that seems to be fairly rare with the sort of situation you've created here, so I'm very interested to see how this will go here.
Ooooh, well this is really piling on the fluffiness by this point and I am absolutely not complaining. I was expecting some kind of twist to turn up but it looks like that will not be the case with how things are proceeding and I really love where this is taking us.
Ahh...a lovely little reunion, well, that's the sort of thing that you love to see here. I think you manage to capture this moment pretty well through the emotions that we're seeing on display here.
Hmm...and off things go into the sunset. I wonder if this is the start of a story...the end of one or perhaps meant to stand alone..although this is in the novel section so you can never quite tell. At any rate, this is a lovely wholesome ending here.
Aaaaand that's it for this one.
Overall: Overall, this was a really lovely piece to read through. I enjoyed it quite a bit and I think it makes for a wonderful little scene here. Aaand that's about all I have to say for now.
