Alright fellow writers, I need lots of help! I'm writing this as a surprise for the last day of my Creative Writing class, and I need it to be perfect. Feel free to add, subtract, multiply and divide!
A little back story:
Ever since the first day of class, we knew the class was gonna be awesome. We were all sitting in a circle, talking about our summers. Mrs. Bachman, the teacher, went first.
"The coolest thing I did all summer was..."
She was stumped. She didn't think she'd done anything interesting! I spoke up.
"What was the nerdiest thing you did all summer?"
And from then on we were like a family. The quiet ones, the loud ones, all centered around the common interest of writing.
The Poem (which needs a name):
The first day, we all knew.
This big group of nerds, of all shapes and sizes
in one room. Sounds dangerous to some,
but we took the challenge.
Fate-shipper, crew girl,
hipster glasses. Pikachu,
quiet-yet-deadly. Angel of the lord,
woodland creature, first day heartthrob.
White girl, artist, radical.
Quiet, wise. Soft hair, old soul,
swimmer, good taste in music,
the Sun.****
Some of us are witches or wizards,
time lords, hunters, or divergents.
Vampires, Trekkies, hobbits.
We're all different, but in some slight ways, similar.
And we're all centered around this crazy woman
with so many names (Mrs. Bachman, Bachman, Bach, Sassmaster);
she teaches us by day and murdered us that one time;
she let us and and called us her darlings
and let this become a home.
"Okay Kate, this is out of hand,"
yeah, I know you're thinking it.
In all our differences, one of them is that
some of us feel differently than others.
For instance, some of you are probably sitting there
staring out the window, thinking about your weekend.
Others (me, for instance) are probably crying by now
(maybe this poem was a bad idea), because
you're (I'm) gonna miss this class so, so much.
So remember, that whoever you are,
whatever you ship,
though our fandoms may contrast,
this year, you had an extra family.♥♥
****The second stanza is superfluous and will probably be removed.

Hey there! joallover here for a review on this wonderful Review Day for team Mazarine Marauders!
I like the idea of this. It's sweet and very relevant to the personal memories of the class. Anyone other than your Creative Writing class would not understand and in the purpose of writing, that is a good thing. I do have some nitpicks though!
First of all, this verse
"And we're all centered around this crazy woman
with so many names (Mrs. Bachman, Bachman, Bach, Sassmaster);
she teaches us by day and murdered us that one time;
she let us and and called us her darlings
and let this become a home."
I found was a little off from the rest of the poem. It all talks about the differences and similarities and yes, it fits in the indicated purpose for writing, but in the overall poem, I believe it takes away from the 'wow factor.'
Also, the last line in the indicated verse throws me off a lot. I find it especially does not fit in the verse, it has a different sound and structure than the other lines.
One more thing that threw me off was the brackets. I was unclear if I was supposed to read them as part of the poem or as part of the backstory or what. Again, good in the purpose, bad for the poem. I believe it would be benefitial if you honestly want this to be the best you can, if you reworded or rewrote some of these statements. They are good, but they can be stronger and even more enjoyable!
Even the best of authors can improve!
Peace Love and Fahrvergnugen!

(P.S. I know Iggy already said so but since I'm big sister I'll just tell you: You can only swear like that if your work is rated properly, but since your work is rated E you can't swear, okay? DON'T GET IN TROUBLE OR I'LL TACKLE YOU NEXT TIME I'M THERE.)
Leave in the second stanza! I actually think it's the strongest, my dear. It's got the most imagery and the most poetic elements. In my opinion--
I mean, okay, I get where you're coming from with this because it DEFINITELY reminds me of the five thousand poems I wrote for Mariner Drama in high school, right? But looking back on those, they are not my strongest poems. Like bits and pieces of them are good, but they lack in imagery and metaphor and all that other good stuff, you know?
And that's why your second stanza is actually the strongest, because it has all the things my MD Family poems lacked. And the rest of your poem kind of lacks, although may I say that I love the bit about killing your darlings (or her darlings, in this case).
So, depending on how much time you have and how much work you're willing to put into this--I would start with the second stanza and rewrite the rest of the poem to be more like that. I know that's probably a lot more work than what you were thinking of doing, but I frequently find myself doing that with poems, these days.

GET ON THE SITE MORE OFTEN, WOMAN.
Blue aka the Awesomest Sister Ever
Why did you even pick the name BlueAfrica?
Oh my gosh, why does everyone ask me that? You must know the Africa part. And aside from liking the color blue a lot, I just think it's cool as a nickname. I'd say why'd YOU pick PurpleEurope, but I'm pretty sure you based it off my name, so :p

the Sun.**** (You can leave this verse and let it be some kind of ''stream-of-consciousness)
Some of us are witches or wizards,
time lords, hunters, or divergents. (semi-colon)
Vampires, Trekkies, hobbits.
We're all different, but in some slight ways, similar. (scratch the ''slight''; no need of it)
And we're all centered around this crazy woman
with so many names (Mrs. Bachman, Bachman, Bach, Sassmaster); (Why not, ''of many names)
she teaches us by day and murdered us that one time; (Why not, ''and once, to our deaths we came)
she let us and and called us her darlings (I don't understand the word play here, nevertheless, shouldn't it be ''she let(s) us'')
and let this become a home. (scratch the ''and''. It is unrelated to the preceding line)
"Okay Kate, this is out of hand,"

Overall, the poem has a good material but I think you're trying to fix in so much at once. Doing that, you leave so many loose ends and undeveloped ideas. I can understand the pressure to make it perfect. I advice, you focus on one thing you like best in your class and expound on it poetically. So much is happening in the poem and we can't feel the same ecstasy that you feel about your class. As I said earlier, you're putting in some many elements in your class and leaving them undeveloped and you jump to another element. My best verse out of the whole poem is the very verse you're thinking of taking out. It's a good poem but can be worked on.
That one line was supposed to say "she let us IN and called us darlings," I guess I fucked up there lol.
Relax! No hassle... especially for someone like you. you got the flame just let it flow...
Please watch your language.
Also, Temi, please refrain from copying the entire poem. If you have a nitpick with a particular line or stanza, copy that stanza ONLY. Copying the entire poem when unnecessary is considered review spam and will get you in a lot of trouble.
Duly noted...
