In the beginning it all seemed like a joke
He wasn't as smart as the other folk
But before he knew it, his life would change
Over the top and completely out of range
As his I.Q increased by day and by night
Algernon the mouse gave Charlie new sight
A sight that showed how it had been
How the others had committed such, a sin
As he saw the light even though some was not true
He tried with all his might to cut his anger in two
It was against his beliefs to get mad
Even when he saw the young lad
But it all changed when Algernon had died
When all of their hope was suddenly fried
Out of the blue and into the dark
All of these things left on Charlie a mark
(ps. It's an uber[really really] sad book, but uber good!!!!)
