You Left Me Here

You left me here, yet you took nothing.
Why couldn’t you just take everything?
Can’t you see that you’ve left me with something?
The pain I feel without you.

You left me here, yet I’m unsure if you even care.
Why couldn't you just present the truth to me?
Can’t you see that you’ve left me in question?
My mind cries out to be set free;

Suffocating from the words
You should have said to me.

You left me here, yet I still looked out the window.
Why couldn’t you just meet my gaze?
Can’t you see that I saw hope out somewhere in the dark?
My love for you now is but a haze.

You left me here...
So now I’m leaving you.

Thanks, neonspeeddemon! I actually NEVER thought that this piece would get published, as it is a very personal piece of mine! But hey, life is unexpected, right?

Nice! I like it! =) I get why it's been published. I don't think I've got any complaints which is rare.

Thank you, kjr5horses and telle_04! To answer your questions: I have indeed considered song writing, however, I haven't written anything concrete as of yet!

Wow this was really good. I could actually feel what the narrator of the poem was feeling and that's kinda hard to do with a poem as short as this. Somehow, though, you did it, and I am glad that somebody knows how to do it. All in all, I loved this.

I hope I’ve never been quoted, tbh
