They always told us that we were connected. Telepathic, psychically in-sync. And I believed them. Your pain was my pain, and when I was scared by big kids on the playground or horrible nightmares, you came to my rescue.
You were the knight to my dragon, even though you said it was good and proper for me to be a princess. Thank you for only pretending to be mad. It meant a lot to me.
Mom always pretended to confuse us, calling me you and you me. We giggled and corrected her, but we still tried to pass as each other. Remember? When your hat hid my hair and you just barely fit in my dress, we thought our plan was fool-proof. I suppose we were wrong.
We thought we were so special. Dad told us stories of psychologists like him, who spent their entire lives studying people like us. Even Hitler, an older kid proclaimed, attemting to scare us. It worked, but I held your hand and Mom told us that Hitler, the serial killer with the weird moustache, was dead. We felt invincible.
Now, older kids leave me alone, but their whispers sting more than the gravel they pushed me in. The nightmares are worse, and each night I still expect you to sneak into my room and talk about nothing, until we both fall back asleep. Instead, I try to stop crying on my own. I'd rather wake up to you curled on my comforter, the name of which is now a cruel joke.
I suppose Hitler and the psycholgists and all those adults were wrong, because I've been sending you letters in my dreams, and I don't think you're getting them.

Hi love. Here to review you :3
Hmm.. Even though they mean different things, one can be said without needing to say the other. Otherwise, it gets a little congested. I'm going to assume that if they're connected, they're both telepathically connected AND psychically. So, you could just put "telepathically" here, or "psychically linked".
Awww
Wait what? When was this other person ever mad?
Aw Tacks, this story made me so sad. There's a poetic quality to it I've never seen to your writing before. You know how much I love the stuff you write, but this has to be one of my favorites. The nostalgic way the narrator speaks of it's twin, the way we think it's going to end happily but in fact ends on a sad note... It all rings so quiet and softly poetic, I can't help but read it again. The shortness is part of it's loveliness, because you give us just enough to love both characters, and not enough time with them. (Another thing that's very poemish of you)
The closing line is by far my favorite. It wraps everything up with a nice little bow, and gave me that little stab in the heart that I know you love to give readers.
The only problem I have with this story, actually, is the title. The story is so lovely, but the title isn't. The title gives no hints of the beauty inside. So I would think about changing it, to something like "Letters in a Dream" or the like, because it would suit it much better than "Twin-Studies".
Anyway, loved it. <3
Hi Sakura, I think this story is too short and just give some information at a glimpse / brief on some of the events that you create here. A lot more narrative elements that you can use to develop this story. The important thing is the plot of the short story. Here there is no climax nor something to make the reader attach into the story you made. I assume you have not completed your short story yet and this is just the beginning of the story.
You makes me so nervous to know more about this short story!
About the idea and theme of the story, I can not deny that it was so interesting to bring the story of twins in your short story. I hope you can give something different in your story later. I mean (finish it)
