I honestly can't figure out exactly why I like this.
The title is beautiful in itself. And although it's the city of dreams, I totally believe it could describe a city of 'writers'. The imagery isn't really there, but in that... It totally paints an image in my head. I have no idea how that works.
I do kind of wish you'd split it, instead of leaving it in paragraph format. But, by all means, if you're happy with it the way it is, then I'm happy too.
I do feel as if it dropped off unexpectedly. Are you planning to add more on later? Or do you think you've ended it well?
I suggest adding an ending, that feels a bit more like an ending.
Other than that, it's a wonderful piece! I'd love to read this poem to future generations as a beginning poem. (Something you'd use with a class that's beginning a lesson in poetry.)
Truly inspirational and beautiful.
Good Luck To You!
Well, I don't really read nor review poems since I'm quite bad at analizing such art. Even so, this one somehow pulled me in and I soon found myself reading and picturing such a place.
Like I told you, I don't tend to read poetry, but I must admit that in just a few sentences this image I first began to create, simply kept making itself more clear as the sentences kept pilling up.
When it finished, I was left with this image of a fairy-like silent night, where the stars shine on a peacefully calm sea....
Somehow, I can't place a "city" over there, but thought about a citadel, along with a medieval glassy and fading castle where the light of the stars would bounce and make it shine. I know I'm probably taking it up way too literal, but it just seems to describe such a place out of old tales and legends...
That last part "Although you may not see it soon, there lies many disguises." didn't really change the idea I had just built up, but it sounded like a promise to me. Almost as if some day I, myself, may be able to see such a magical night; and that such a view may exist anywhere, but nowhere all the same, maybe hidden and waiting to be discovered once again to be simply enjoyed.
I really liked it, and although I can't appreciate poetry as many here may be able to, I sure can value such an idea. That's what it spoke to me and I do want to thank you for these five sentences that actually left a pretty lovely image up in my head.
Hello PinkPanda123,
First off, this is wonderful! If you just adjusted some things, it would be perfect. No mean comments here, just a couple pointers. It would look more like a poem if every time you wanted a pause, along with the appropriate punctuation you pressed enter. Also, for writing in general, put a space after your comma. Otherwise, this is really good for a first try. I think it could also make a great short story or novel if you kept expanding.

It' good for a first poem. I think it still needs a lot of work, but it's okay because it's your first poem. Keep it, and keep writing if you actually want to be a professional poet, and I guarantee you'll be awesome! Nice poem, and keep writing!
this is my first poem,so no mean comments.
