Legolas Greenleaf

by Phoenixfire

L ight filters through forest canopy yet
E ven when darkness falls the tale continues
G reen leaf and bark of tree older than time
O ver hills and under mountains to find
L eaving home was more difficult than fighting
A s orcs crawled over the unspoiled plains and
S eas beyond reckoning call your name

G reeting friends from far off places
R eaching for stars and stooping for flowers
E ven when trouble comes and it seems that
E ver will you be far from home and hearts belonging
N ever will you see forests again, yet
L earning things that had long been forgotten had
E arned a place in memory’s vaults
A nd time seems to stop in perfect moments,
F or life is a bittersweet sorrowing.

You don't want to see the Frodo one. I did it for Sage, she got a chuckle, but it's baaaaad.

I could go either way with the "even" thing. Really like it, though, you do good charecter poems.

E ven when trouble comes and it seems that

That's the only line that doesn't seem to fit. All the other lines sound good, but that one just sounds . . . off.

Maybe something ilke, "Every time" instead of Even? Though maybe that's too simple.

Lovely poem overall. :)
