Set it down. Does it line up?
Pretty blue edges and colourful centres. The piece is turquoise – its edges unfrayed and sharp. The rest of the pieces hug each other close, telling their story, barely interrupted by their holes. Missing pieces join in all the time, filling up the emptiness and brightening up the picture. The turquoise suits the colours. It matches, it looks shiny enough to fit snug and perfect in its own spot.
Look around, do you see that spot. Maybe there? The ends don’t line up. Move it around, perhaps on the other side? The colours here seem more like it, could it fit here? The shade’s just the slightest bit off. It doesn’t look right.
Grab a paintbrush. Paint it a cheerier hue. Will it work now? Maybe a bolder tale to tell. Draw it a new cover. Start at one end and move to the other and everywhere in between. Can you feel the desperation? (Fall, fall, fall)
The scissors’ edge is sharp, sheering away at what makes it itself. Choose two pieces, the darkest corner maybe? No. Find the ones telling the story and push, push, push. It’s happening, a manic grin on your face. The colour doesn’t quite blend, the line is still wonky and it’ll never fit quite right.
No one can tell. (Yes, they can.)

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Night(whichever one it is in your part of the world),
Hi! I'm here to leave a quick review!!
First Impression: Well...this was a wonderful little piece...on the surface its a nice and cool little story about puzzles but I personally think there is a lot more to it than that...and well down below you can see me totally over analyze that...well...hopefully I haven't overthought this.
Anyway let's get right to it,
Hmm...okay...interesting little description here for the puzzle pieces there...hmm....definitely looks like we've got a bit of a metaphor running here...I highly doubt this piece is actually just talking about interesting things to do with puzzles...I sense that this is all about humans probably and how some pieces just fit together...and are very snug in their own spots in the world....well let's see what the rest of it has to say I suppose.
Ahh well that seems like a really nice little rendition of when sometimes you just don't quite seem to fit and you're just looking around trying to make little adjustments to fit in.
And here we go...the stage where you sometimes just try to completely be someone that you're not, just to try and fit in...
Oh well...that's an interesting ending there....but yeah...I think my theory here is getting proven quite nicely here....looks like we're referring to how someone changes themselves to fit a place but you just never quite manage to properly blend in despite wanting to believe you do...well..anyway...an interesting story nonetheless.
Aaaaand that's it for this one.
Overall: Overall this was quite an interesting little story here...I definitely enjoyed it...well anyway...that's about all I've gotta say here.
As always remember to take what you think was helpful and forget the rest.
Stay Safe

Hi Niko! I was immediately drawn to your story just by the title! I'm into Professor Layton so I just saw puzzle and couldn't help but take a look. This was a really nice little piece of work and I really liked the bold use of the brackets. Sometimes when people attempt that kind of thing, like the whole breaking the fourth wall almost, it seriously doesn't work but here it was done very well and it fit. Another thing I really liked about this piece was how artsy it is. It's not direct because well you never mentioned it was a puzzle outside the title. That was pretty risky because doing that can sometimes leave the reader lost but you had a lot of good imagery of a puzzle accompanied with that OCD buzz you, well me anyway, get when putting a puzzle together so it was a well painted image. And then getting all deep you know I see the parallelism with trying to blend into society which was brilliant.
So criticism.. Hmm nothing really stands out as anything I'd change. You have a very individualistic style that I really like so yeah just keep doing what you're doing then!
Hey, thank you. I'm glad you liked it
Hi there.
I am in love with this.. It is so heartbreaking in way. In a good way. You know it's the kind of piece where you keep hoping that things change and it all becomes well and good again. I totally agree with the interpretation given by the reviewer before me. So Thumbs up on making me relate to it, and writing it so brilliantly..

Thank you, I'm happy you liked it
Hellooo. Welcome to YWS!

This was an intriguing piece. The title itself had that pull towards me.
I enjoyed reading it.
There weren't any typos or grammatical errors, at least none that I can find.
My interpretation is that this "puzzle" thing is a metaphor for a person trying to fit in with other people.
The person tries to adapt, tries to change in order to be considered on of them, but fails to do so.
Even when the person radically changes himself, people can still see that he is not one of them, and simply does not belong.
I do tend to over analyze stuff, so I might be totally off with my interpretation, and this may be just about Puzzle pieces
I loved the way you ended it with the little bit in the brackets.
Good work.
Hassan
Hey, thanks for reviewing
You were actually pretty much spot on with the interpretation. Although I suppose it could have also been a person maniacally obsessed with finishing a puzzle :p
