I wrote this for a friend of mine. I know it's a bit sketchy but hopefully some advice will help me to improve it 
And I don't know how sensitive some people are, so this might be confronting for some. It's nothing graphic but you never know what can affect people.
You're in a dark place
With sense of no escape
Your heart is on a race
And your mouth is under tape
You just want it to end
To finally get some peace
Your will begins to bend
But just listen to me, please
Put the knife down
You can walk away
Don't let yourself drown
Stay with me, please stay
Your emotions are in a whirl
You don't know how to feel
You're just a small and frightened girl
Will you ever heal?
To be honest, I don't know
But it just doesn't matter
I know you're feeling low
But give up and my world will shatter

You think leaving will solve everything
That it will make the whole world right
But not for those left behind

Although I amn't the suicidal kind, this'd definitely make me think twice before doing something drastic. Amazing.
hey... I really loved your poem... The only thing I felt was that the repetition you have done. I know it was to emphasis but I think you don't need to repeat that's all for the correction I could see... Appreciation is in bundles... The idea and inspiration was so deep and good... I really loved it very very much...
This poem makes alot of sense. Most suicide attempters believe their death will solve the problem and end the suffering. Little do they know all the questions they leave behind unaswered and all the suffering loved ones in such a strong state of loss and confusion. So many victims of suicide seemed so happy and left us no clue as to what type of pain and suffering they were enduring. I believe every suicide is a traumatic loss and big question left unanswered...Why did he/she do it? Beautiful and encouraging poem might I say It would give me a reason to stay living if I were in a suicidal situation thats for sure.

I know it sounds a bit emo, but I suppose that's what the atmosphere of the poem is meant to be. As to your question of what inspired me, I'm not totally sure. I was just lying in bed one night and thinking of a troubled friend of mine, when the poem just formed in my mind (if that makes sense!)
