Perfect is not Perfect

It is perfect at the start

And may be for a while

But then you’ll come to realise

That you’re losing your smile

*

What felt right at first

Is now blackened at the edge

You take a look around

Now you’re standing on a ledge

*

This part is tricky

Let go or hold tight

The decision is everything

Fight or take flight

*

It’s scary up here

Because now it’s clear to see

That what you thought was perfect

Was just not meant to be

I like the way you write and at the beginning of the story you put something from the title

and that is one of those things I like about when i'm reading poems it adds more action to the

poem and after every time you wrote a stanza you put a star * and then go to the other stanza

and to me I like a person who done's that certain thing in a story or a poem.

Also I like it when after every stanza you write something different that is going on and to me

that is something that is different from other people.

Also I like it when you said

"It’s scary up here

Because now it’s clear to see

That what you thought was perfect

Was just not meant to be"

And to me this is one of the parts that is very important because it is almost talking about

life and if there is a different way tell me because I would like to know.

One last thing before I go is that you need to keep writing and the more you write the better

of a reader and writer you will become. Also if you do that you will earn more point but until

then keep writing.

And if you are planing on writing a new poem please tell me because I like the way you write

it is different from other people and I like that way.

Glad you like it and I will let you know if I write any more :D

This poem is somting which I TRULY bELEIVE .i think no mortal man can evr be so perfect as at first t appears to be and this illusionary perfectness which is apparent at the beginng is what the world calls love.About the poem it it is simple lucid n language straght in approach and beautiful.HATS OFF FOR IT.i LOVEAD THE WAY YOU HAVE KEPT THE ROMANTIC ELEMENT SUSPENSE AND NARRATED THE POEM THI GIVES READERS A SPACE TO BIULT UP THE CONNECTION OF THE WORDS IN THEIR PRACTICl life.

Thank you so much :D

HEY THERE!
wonderful poem! must say.
I assume that this poem is about joys in life, which come but are momentary and always cost you much part of your happiness.
Well that is what I ASSUME.
My favorite parts of your poem-
1)The beautiful, melodious and rhythmic flow. I personally appreciate the flow of poem.
2)The concept. Besides, you have wonderfully expressed the concept of things that we think are perfect but are not perfect. To me this symbolizes positivity as the reader learns to look beyond the imperfections. This gives a rich taste to your poem.
3) The vocabulary, grammar and imagery used are marvelous!

Honestly mate, i simply cant find any suggestions but this one, you first sort out the idea you want to express clearly in your head and then pour it out. In this poem the beginning is certainly melancholic and the ending leaves the reader kind of confused, as for is it supposed to be positive or sad. Basically towards the ending the tome is not clear.

Hopefully, my review proves to useful and remember these are just MY views! you are a poet and you have got your style maybe i couldn't understand it.
All the best for future..

Thank you for your lovely review! This is my first attempt at poetry so I didn't really know how people would respond.

In terms of tone, I was aiming for it to be optimistic at the start and then be melancholy at the end. It's interesting what people take from poetry and maybe your confusion as to the tone at the end is apt. This is about a personal experience where someone and something turned out to be not what I had first thought and I have no idea what went wrong. So maybe your confusion comes from my own in that sense or maybe I need to work on my poetry, I don't know haha.

Thanks again!
