Reasons

I saw myself in my tears,

That is the reason I stopped crying.

I was being reflected by my fears,

That is the reason I stopped apprehending.

...

The mirror showed a terrible body

Yeah, I broke it,

The world had to carry an horrendous git,

I wished to stop being in it.

...

What a price I get paid for my love useless

Just tears, and pain with nothing else,

My love showed my character,

So I stopped loving.

hallo Lostwriter Rodger here, Let me start by saying that this is a very emotional poem it talks of getting hurt over and over again until a point where you never seem to care anymore this is clearly narrated in the first two lines ( I saw myself in tears, that is the reason why I stopped crying) this two lines carry a lot of meaning. As a writer it just leaves you with a lot of questions which is great cause the suspense keeps you wanting to know more.

The second stanza somewhat leaves you with more questions and still fewer answers ( The mirror showed a terrible body, yeah l broke it) this is somewhat showing a not so clear imaged as to what really happened to the protagonist and still keeps the writer guessing.

As the climax gets closer the writers reads with excitement as to what really what transpired but yet again Lostwriter you leave has hanging with a lot of questions and again fewer answers which leaves as wondering as to how the story ended.
The only negative a have about it is that l thing it would have gone really deeper then it did, that the story would have gone beyond just hurt and tears. But besides that will done.

My goodness, that put a stake in my heart. I want to give you a hug, cause I've been there. The thing is, no matter how hard someone can try to stop loving, for some it's not possible. Loving is who you may be, try not to deny yourself that. To the review part of things, I think this is absolutely wonderful! Your use of punctuation is on point! I wouldn't change it for the world. I love it!

I know you posted this a whole year ago, but I hope since then things have been better. Sending hugs and love!!! <3

Hey StarGaurdian! I'm so pleased to make you relate to my poem! And no, I didn't post it a year ago, I just posted it maybe 4 days ago. Thank you so much for your concern and appreciation ^_^. I hope you have a good day/ night ahead :D <3

Hello LostWriter, I hope this finds you well.

Let us begin with the first 4 lines;

"I saw myself in my tears,
That is the reason I stopped crying.
I was being reflected by my fears,
That is the reason I stopped apprehending."

INTERPRETATION: It's one thing to look in the mirror and see the only thing that shines is the pain inside, but another thing entirely to see yourself inside those tears and be the sole cause of the drought. Being the sole embodiment of your fears can be quite a confusing time, represented by your saying of "That is the reason I stopped apprehending."

Now for me, this would be lyrically appealing if you took APPREHENDING and changed it to TRYING. Looking at the rhythm in your first 4 lines, it becomes kind of janky at apprehending. You have quite a few options in the mere definition that could change the whole outcome of this poem. Did you mean that you wish to say;

You wish to no longer seize control in your fear, to arrest them.

You wish to no longer understand or perceive your fears.

You wish to no longer anticipate your fear.

Finding a different word for the meaning you wish to express can not only solidify your meaning but may also regain the flow to last through the ending.

"The mirror showed a terrible body,
Yeah, I broke it,
The world had to carry A horrendous git,
I wished to stop being in it."

INTERPRETATION: Self-consciousness is a crippling anxiety, that sadly takes over most these days. To not only be embarrassed about your outward image but to then hold over yourself the mocking that you were the one to do so is a heavy weight to shoulder. To be consumed in the thought that the world carried you, and in turn, to carry a whole world's weight worth of blame, acknowledging yourself as nothing more than an unpleasant person. It's heavy, all of this blame, and I know it hurts, but thankfully you don't always have to shoulder it. The weight doesn't leave just because you do. It leaves because you had the strength to not only shoulder it a little while longer but to also have the compassion to set it down gently and move on.

As far as grammatical and lyrical sense, you should change AN to A, as horrendous does not start with a vowel. Also to

"What a price I get paid for my love useless,
Just tears, and pain with nothing else,
My love showed my character,
So I stopped loving."

INTERPRETATION: The price we pay, for the affections and love we say, it never seems to be enough. For every hug, we get smacked, for every word we get arguements, every new turn has a new phrase. To some, character makes us vulnerable, weak. To others it makes us strong, every broken bone adds to the strength. But every layer that adds on makes it impossible to move, in constant storms of pain that proves to be unescapable.

The line "What a price I get paid for my love uselss," could use some reorganizing. Maybe try getting into your flow again and play around with the words.

All in all, this was a lovely poem to dissect and work with. I hope to see more from you in the future.

Keep creating beautiful art, and dance in the rain when things seem hard.

Hello hawinay! Thank you so much for the review, I really appreciate it! :D and yeah, thank you for the critiques too, they always help to improve! I would definitely try and put your suggestions into work in my upcoming works as they make sense. Thanks again <3
