I've read the series. Twice. And I'm eagerly anticipating "Twelve Sharp" coming out in June of this year.
Now I know they're pretty adult books, but I don't read them for that. I read them for the hilarity! They're the funniest books I've ever read in my life! I laugh out loud in the middle of class when Stephanie's car blows up...again...or when Lula does something weird, like 'finding a broken window'.
Right now I'm reading book 11 for the second time, and am almost done. I'm wondering if anybody else has something to add about the books.

If you have read the books, or heard of them, and think I'm too young--I'll let you know, my mom recommended the series. 
They're her favorite too!

anet Evanovich’s series of books about Stephanie Plum are well balanced on romance and mystery though it gets tiring towards the later books. The series starts with a recently unemployed Stephanie Plum taking on a job as bounty hunter, as she reconnects with her first boyfriend and a new intriguing love interest. Throughout the series, the love triangle develops and then kinda’ stagnates with Stephanie being caught between the family approved reliable cop who was her first love and the super-rich mysterious sexy guy who can’t commit. In each novel, Stephanie and her over-the-top sidekick Lula hilariously fail at catching the bad guys, at least one car gets blown up and Stephanie does solve a mystery.
