Haven't done anything in quite a while...this was actually for an assignment. Enjoy!

50 balloons drift upwards into the sky,
flooding the blue with colours such as green, red and white.
And they fly, bound by the laws of earth,
showering surprise onto birds, planes and us.
But whatever destinations they have in their minds,
the 50 balloons are destined to drift apart.
In groups of eight, four and finally two,
one has to bid the another a sad sayonara.
Still, despite the birds, the planes and us,
the 50 balloons have the true blue heavens.
So if you come to a stage where you're about to pop,
remember, they are out there, yearning for anything but to drop.

LIke it but it could be longer.
Like the person above me said.
More description would help. But so far I really like it.
Happy Writing.
Over all:
You need some more description. Description of how these things happen, try using similes and metaphors. And make sure everything in your poem backs up your idea.
Poems are kinda like essays. Everything backs your main ideas up. Paragraph by paragraph, stanza by stanza, they advance your ideas and support them.
And also like essays, your poems need move through the motions of what it is describing, not just one. You spent most of your time just repeating that they fly and what it is like around them, but what does that mean to us? The balloons? Nothing. You didn't give it any action or relation to the real world, something for us to grapse onto and experiance.
Good luck, keep writing.
