I am currently taking English 101 and we were given an essay on the first day on which we to write about out experiance as a writer. This is my essay. It will be due this Wednesday. I will post my grade on here when I receive it.

My Experience In Writing

I have had some experience in my life as a writer. I am a heavy reader as well as a writer in my spare time. My teachers have taught me many things, and exposed some of my problems as a writer. Teachers have helped me through the years with all my writing skills. Though, I may not be the most skilled writer in the world, I have enough experience to know how to write stories and essays.

Reading has become a huge pastime of mine over the years, and when you read a lot you tend to develop your own process. Before I read a book I will, sometimes, research it to see if it would be something I would enjoy reading. Once I found a book I like I will sit down for hours on end, reading the book. As I read I play a movie in my mind of the scenes that I read, giving me a picture of what was going on in the book. Usually, after I finish a book, I will contemplate over what I’ve read and debate with myself over what will happen in the sequel, if there is one.

The process I go through while reading has greatly helped me when writing. When I start it out I will start it with the scene that will grab someone’s attention. Something that’s dramatic, or just so plain weird that it becomes interesting are my preferred choices. I will also try my best to give a person a great description of what I’m imagining my characters doing. Planning out a story and brainstorming ideas before a story has not really worked out for me much, so I always design my stories from the top of my head. When finishing my stories I will make a scene that will leave the reader pondering what could happen next, or imagining what they would do if they were the character.

Even though I have a process in reading in writing that works for me, it does have some problems. The one main problem I have is trying to concentrate on the story or essay. Usually, if the topic does not interest me or that I don’t enjoy, I find it hard to stay on task with the subject. Another problem I have is my mind can tend to wander when I think. A lot of the time, my mind will wander to other topics that have to do with the current topic I am working, but that will lead to other topics until I lose sight of what I am trying to write. I realize that I have these major problems when I read and write stories, whether it be for pleasure or class, but I try my best to fix it.

Some people who have helped greatly with developing my reading and writing process, and fixing some of my problems in them are my teachers. The main influences in my reading and writing were from my ninth and tenth grade English teachers. They taught me when opening an essay use a sentence that will immediately grab the reader’s attention and make them want to read on, especially if the reader is the teacher. They also helped fix my problems by making me read stories that I wouldn’t normally read or be interested in and then quizzing me over them. This forces me to have pay attention to the story while.

While I might not be the most experianced person in the world when writing my stories, I still have my process in writing stories and essays that has helped me throughout my school years.

First I most commend your humility. I'm very impressed.

In writing, I've learnt that there is one thing to spin a story there is another thing to narrate yours. Reading your ability to do the latter was a learning experience.

I also share your style of reading that you described in paragraph 2. I don't research but I definitely see the mind movie.

I noticed a few things though that went wrong.
In your introductory paragraph, I believe "out experience" is "our experience". Also There's a comma missing here "in reading "?" in writing ". Also one of your last sentences wasn't complete. I believe it missed a word or so.

Your teachers definitely did an admirable job.
Happy writing (and reading)

I liked readind the experiences you have made as a writer, although I was hoping for a pivitol point in your experience. Compromises which had to be made?

Overall, I enjoyed your work :)!

Your doing really good for English 101. My mind wanders when I am writing, but sometimes it makes for good stories. "Experianced" is spelled experience. I start writing the same way you do, thinking of something that seams interesting and expound on it. Nice writing. You should keep writing. :D
