Hope I find my hope
Can the four-leaved clover make me hopeful instead of lucky?
Can the wishing well grant me hope instead of luck?
Can the pixie dust give me hope instead of flight?
Can the Cupid hit me with hope instead of love?
They can't, maybe they can't melt the frozen hope inside me.
They can't, maybe they can't make my cremated hope rise
from ashes.
When I find the flower growing in wild,
maybe then frozen hope shall ignite into flames.
When I find the wind flies to the blows,
maybe then ashes of hope shall wash upon sand.
They can't, maybe they can't as well,
No magic can.
Cause hope had never froze, never flew, never burned,
always bloomed.
It was in me for long,
it was in me when I hoped to find hope.

Hello Lazie! It's AJ here for a review! I really like the idea of searching for hope. Wishing that anything could give you hope.
The first stanza,
Is probably my favorite part. We know all these things and we know what they give, but the narrator doesn't want flight or love. They want hope. My only thing is the second line. You reuse the idea of luck twice in a row. And wishing wells give you aa wish. Not luck. So I'm a little confused on that.
Repetition is every poets best friend and worst enemy. I really like the phrasing, "They can't, maybe they can't...". Really good.
"...frozen hope shall ignite into flames." I absolutely love that line. And the flower being the thing that causes it. Flowers can be seen as a symbol of life and beauty. Beautiful.
Bringing back the lines from earlier! That's a really good decision.
"No magic can." I almost wonder if this could be better placed after the first stanza.
Oh I love this. The ending, the narrator realizing that they had it inside of them all along. Bringing back all the images from earlier too. The second to last line is a little wonky, but that's all.
Overall, I really liked this. The images and the repetition. Bringing back images to continue on later. There's just a few thing to fix and this will be even better!
Keep living and writing!
AJ
hi, i really enjoyed reading this poem! i think the repetition you use in each stanza really helps embellish the feeling that readers can evoke while engaging with this work
for the first stanza, i really liked how you used lots of magical objects to explore the idea of finding hope, even though they're usually associated with luck, which makes the reader curious about why the speaker is searching for luck in the first place!
i think probably my favorite part is the ending, and honestly it's a really beautiful way to conclude the poem c: it's like the speaker spends the poem searching for something they think they've lost, just for it to have been within them all along. moreover, i thought the way you contrasted describing hope was really cool - specifically, how you described it as frozen and cremated, but later as something that has "always blossomed"\
if i absolutely had to nitpick on two things, it would be that the lines
are kind of vague. if it's your preference, then nothing to worry about! if not, i do feel like what you're trying to describe has a lot of potential, but the meanings are initially slightly difficult to understand.
but nevertheless, overall this was a really sweet and fun read, i enjoyed it a lot
