Scars

Are my scars something to fear?

I am not aware

I had something to fear

They are slices in my skin

I feel naked to the world

As these marks

Dress my thighs

I cover in these ruins

My battle wounds they shine --

On my stomach

These lines

They shield my growing skin

As stretch marks are cast out

I see beauty within

I honestly find this poem wonderful. Whenever I hear about stretch marks, it is typically the insecurity people hold over them or hate towards them. Hearing someone appreciate them in writing form is honestly breathtaking and needed in my mind since it is a part of the natural human body and not some "perfect image" that people try to create when perfection is hard to come by (or even get to). The beginning question of if the scars should be feared and then calling them battle wounds that shine, all amazing in portraying your viewpoint and the world's. Keep up the great work!

I love this poem!! Even though it’s so heavy, seeing that double dash right after the part about battle wounds is truly amazing because it makes the reader stop and really feel that sadness. the way you describe scars as ruins is extremely amazing because it makes the body feel like a place that has been through a war.it is straight up beautiful how you changed the vibe from feeling naked and exposed to finding that quiet beauty in the lines. the punctuation gives so much feeling to the lines and it is outstanding how you used the word dress to show how the marks cover your thighs. it’s like they are a part of you that you can't take off. honestly, the whole idea of seeing beauty within all that pain is just delicious writing. it's truly amazing how raw and real this feels!

Scars, need to mend. I guess with time and the preservation of love. But when the love is rare, the pain hard to share, the past hard to bear. Walking with Scars feeling vulnerable of cause to the world you'll feel bare. But Scars masking the tissues of where hurt landed. Where Pain Was Branded. Without tender Care, would you dare to go back there. Back to the trauma, I feel that is a valid reason for Scars to be something to fear.
Casted by the Pain Of Being Bruised In Vulnerability That Reshapes How You See Yourself, Your Being, Your Body, until uncertain beauty is what you see outside yourself.
And The Only And The One That Must Be Most Important, Is The Light Within, To Inspire How You Raise Yourself Higher With Vision. And With It's Temperate Spirit, Wisdom You Can Gather with it
To Uplift Your Truth As A Beautiful Beautiful Spirit.

Intriguing Piece. Thank You For Sharing
