Introduction

You might think that this book is about cute

little kitty cats that apparently live in a barn. Or, some scruffy, no good, strays. Well, you would be

TERRIBLY wrong.

This story in particular, is the outstanding

journey of a family in which who would do anything for each other to put it in simple terms. Fighting, loving, and giving are merely a scarce foretelling of the path that lives ahead.

These cats are more than just a normal

family. THESE cats, they are everything to one another. They would die for each other's safety. Love. That's what bonds this family together. In this story, there are ups, downs, twists, and turns. But, all of this is nothing that these cats and kittens can't handle.

We just wish that you will stay and read this

epic adventure. We also have hope that this story will inspire you or other readers you know, to write your own.

Chapter 1: Happy Place

Bright morning light streamed through the old and broken windows of the abandoned barn that Lilypad and her fellow cats called their home. Lilypad stretched and yawned loudly. She leapt down from the loft onto a large stack of hay bales. “Morning, everyone!” Lilypad called to a group of cats lounging in a patch of golden sunlight.

“Good morning, Lilypad.” mewed a she-cat with fur that was as white as the snow that falls in the winter.

“Hello, Snowflake. How are the little ones?” Lilypad replied cheerily, looking at a scruffing ball of fur and tiny tails.

“They’re doing just great. But me? Uh-uh. These little fluffballs are wearing me out!”

“Well at least they’re healthy.” she meowed as she plopped down between a black vixen and light grey tom.

“Good morning, Amber.” Lilypad said, as her sister purred a warm good morning.

“Morning, Boots.” she said, vigorously rubbing the grey tom's cheek.

“Well, hey there, sleepyhead,” he purred, licking her forehead, “It’s nearly noon!”

“It’s not my fault! These kids are making me exhausted!” Lilypad mewed, the two glancing down warmly at her pronounced stomach.

“Well, soon enough, you’ll be as tired as Snowflake.” Boots chuckled.

Boots and Lilypad peeked upward as they heard Snowflake scolding Rocky, one of her two kids. “You need to quit trying to pin your sister!” Snowflake yowled, glared down at the little tom.

“We were only playing.” Rocky squeaked.

Pebbles slowly walked backwards to avoid any eye contact with her very angry mother.

“Yes, well, playing nearly killed Pebbles! I don’t want any more of it! Go try and find a game where you aren’t tackling each other.” boomed the mahogany shape of their father, Dusty.

Rocky sulked off to find his sister with his head and tail low.

Then, an old jet black tom cat put in, “Soon, this place will be run by kids! There are already more than plenty.” he wheezed.

“Just wait, Jasper. There will be a few more coming soon enough!” Boots chortled.

“Yep,” Lilypad beamed, “These’ll come any day now.”

Lilypad and Boots purred loudly as they rubbed cheeks, happily. Both cats had been overjoyed when they learned they were expecting children. Lilypad, honestly, was a little worried. This was the very first litter she’d ever had. But Lilypad knew, whatever struggles came their way, this was her happy place.

Chapter 2: Surprise!

A few days later, Lilypad knew something wasn’t right. Her eyes shot open as a sharp pain coursed through her belly. “Amber!” she screeched, “Come here, now!”

The black vixen sprung up to the loft, and rushed to Lilypad’s side. “The kittens,” Lilypad squeaked, “they’re coming!”

“Boots! Get my herbs! And fast!” Amber yowled down to Lilypad’s Lifebond.

“Why?” Boots called.

“Your children, you fluff brained idiot!” Amber screamed.

“Okay! I’m coming!!” Boots squealed, alarmed.

“Hurry!” Lilypad rasped.

“Don’t speak,” Amber warned her, “Save your strength.”

Lilypad closed her eyes as shocking pain racked her body. Even though it hurt so badly, of course she knew it was worth it.

Right then and there, Lilypad realized she would do anything for her little ones. She smiled at the thought of knowing that she was bringing a few new little lives into the world. And it warmed her knowing she was a mother. Boots leaped up onto the loft with a bundle of leaves in his mouth. “Took you long enough!” Amber said, angered.

“Sorry!” Boots replied sheepishly.

“How’s my queen?” he asked, looking warmly at Lilypad.

“In pain,” she winced, “But it’s worth it.”

Boots sat down and started grooming Lilypad’s neck to attempt to comfort her. Lilypad shuddered, knowing it was time. “Alright, Lilypad, when it starts to hurt, dig your claws into this bundle of hay, and squeeze your eyes shut. It’ll help.” Amber instructed, moving over a heavy hay bale. Lilypad did as Amber said, and a few minutes later, Amber was telling Boots to start licking a little dark grey ball of fur to warm it up. “Well, it looks like you have yourself your first daughter.” Amber mewed.

Amber looked at the sunlight hitting the barn floor. "The Sun-Seeker is watching over your paws today, Lilypad. See how the light stays steady?"

Lilypad purred at Amber’s words.

“But don’t expect it to be over.” Amber said.

A few minutes later, Lilypad was licking a cream-colored girl, and Amber a light grey tom.

Then the little dark grey baby girl started mewling. And of course her siblings had to join. Soon, all three little ones were crying pitifully.

“I think they’re hungry.” Lilypad chuckled

“So feed them, fluff head.” Jasper yawned while he walked past.

“Says the one who's always taking all the prey.” Lilypad snorted.

“Just stop their squealing, and let me sleep.” Jasper wheezed.

“Oh, so the world revolves around you now,” Amber shot back, “so Lilypad’s little ones starve to death while you sleep in peace.”

“How about we just hurry up and name them instead of moaning about Mr. Lazy McLazypants.” Boots interrupted.

“And that’s why I’ve already decided.” Lilypad mewed affectionately.

“What are their names?” Amber asked.

“Misty, Hazel, and Twig.” Lilypad purred, nodding to each of them in turn.

“They’re beautiful, and they're ours,” Boots whispered softly to Lilypad.

“Well these little ones look hungry, you should feed them," Amber suggested.

"Well, it looks like they’ve got that covered!” Lilypad giggled, as the little furballs wriggled forward toward her belly, guided by the delicious scent of their mother’s milk.

“Guess I have to get used to this,” Lilypad sighed.

“Yeah I guess, it is very easy to get used to, but sometimes it is annoying. " Snowflake told Lilypad as she sprinted up the ladder.

"I can't believe they are ours!" gushed Boots.

"I just gave birth to three beautiful kids. Hazel, Twig, and Misty. Are they just beautiful names?” Lilypad questioned.

“What is all the racket up there?” Dusty asked.

“I HAVE KIIIIIIIDS!!” yelled Boots.

“Ahem. I was the one who birthed them,” corrected Lilypad, “Also, Dusty, if you come up will you bring some prey?”

“Sure thing!” Dusty called, racing over to the ring of stones where the prey lay, he grabbed the

picture

fattest vole he could find and threw it up to Boots who gave it to his Lifebond.

A few days later, Lilypad was up in the loft with her little ones sleeping squished up next to her belly, drinking up their mothers delicious milk.

“Hello?” a cat calls from outside.

Chapter 3: Visitors

“My name is Tulip. I was just wondering if you could spare some prey. And maybe a place to stay during the night? Me and my Lifebond have been traveling all over for a new place to stay after our home caught fire”

A scrawny, tan queen stepped right inside the barn door. Lilypad was shocked when she realized that this cat was, too, about to give birth.

“I don’t kn-” Boots starts, looking down at his little ones.

“Let her in and get her a nice big mouse.” Lilypad directs the other cats.

“You,” she says, looking at the hungry scrap of fur, “up here with me. We’ll take care of you. Trust me.”

The timid cat smiles and walks further into the barn, then asks timidly, “Is it okay if my Lifebond stays as well?”

“Of course it is.” Lilypad purrs.

Tulip calls back through the door, and a somewhat strong looking tom with a flame colored coat walked in.

“Thank you so much. You have no idea what this means to us.” the tom said sweetly, looking up at Lilypad and Boots, relief flooding over his face.

“It’s the least we can do. I know how hard it is.” Lilypad mewed.

“I believe you do. It looks like you have a few there yourself.” looking down at the little ones laying around the prey pile smelling the delicious scent of prey.

“Oh, those aren’t mine. They’re Snowflake’s, actually.” Lilypad chortled, pointing at Snowflake with her tail.

“Come up here and I’ll show you mine.”

Tulip chuckled and heaved herself up the ladder with her Lifebond close behind her. She came up and then stopped, startled.

“Oh!” she squealed, looking down at the suckling little ones, “They’re beautiful!”

“Here you are Tulip.” Amber said, motioning to a little nest in the hay next to Lilypad.

“Thank you guys so much.” Tulip mewed, plopping down in the nest, “I don’t what I would do without your help.”

“Oh! I almost forgot. I’m Lilypad and this is Boots.”

“You already know me, but this is Milo.”

“Hello.” Milo said warmly.

Milo padded over to where Boots was laying and sat down beside him. The two toms quickly started chatting happily. Meanwhile, Lilypad was gazing down, so proud of the little ones sleeping peacefully in the crook of her soft belly. Tulip was drifting off until her eyes shot open.

“Er, Lilypad?” she mewed.

“Yes, Tulip?”

“Do you, er, happen to have a mender of some sort?”

In an instant, Lilypad realized what was going on. She quickly called to Amber, who had wandered downstairs and started talking with Snowflake, asking her to grab her herbs and hurry over. As soon as Amber heard her yowl, she snatched up her herbs and rushed to Lilypad and Tulip.

Tulip explained everything to Amber and asked her if such pain was normal.

“Oh, yes, Tulip. And don’t worry, everything will be okay.” Amber soothed her.   picture  →

Tulip meowed to Milo to come over. Then, Amber started instructing Tulip the same way she had done a few days before with Lilypad.

“I have one question for everyone up here. Is everybody ready and willing to lick?” Amber asked.

The cats in the loft mewed in agreement. A few minutes later four little little ones, Lavender, Cinnamon, Biscuit, and Cookie, were suckling on their mother, all of their pelts still fluffed up from the licking to warm them up.

“They’re gorgeous!” Tulip beamed.

“Cookie and Lavender look just like their mother.” Milo purred

“And Cinnamon and Biscuit like their father.” Tulip replied.

Just then, Tulip’s smile faded. She stayed quiet for a minute, but she just looked even more troubled. Then she said, nervously, “I guess we should go then. You’ve done so much for us, but we better be out of your fur.”

“Oh, don’t be fluff brained” Lilypad exclaimed.

Tulip gave a little m-rew? of surprise.

“W-what do you mean?”

“What I mean is with that small of little ones, you aren’t going anywhere!” Lilypad snickered, “Plus, look outside. It’s way too dangerous for you, Milo, or your little ones.”

Milo nudged his Lifebond and mewed, “She’s right you know.”

Tulip sighed, and nodded weakly.

“Alright. But on two conditions. One, only if it’s okay with you. And two, when we do leave, can you promise that you’ll find us a home somewhere around here?”

“Of course we will.” Lilypad purred, “I’ll have Boots and Dusty go out and scout for good places when the weather clears up. And hopefully, you don’t have to leave.”

“Thank you. I mean it.” Tulip mews feebly.

Chapter 4: The Incident

Eleven months had passed since Misty and her siblings were born, and the old barn was no longer a quiet refuge—it was a whirlwind of activity. The rafters shook and the hay dust swirled as both litters of catlings reached their most energetic peak yet.

Snowflake’s little ones, Pebbles and Rocky, were now nearly as big as their mother and spent their days wrestling near the prey pile. Meanwhile, Tulip’s little ones—Lavender, Cinnamon, Biscuit, and Cookie—had grown into a sleek, adventurous group that followed Milo everywhere, learning how to track scents in the dusty corners of the barn.

Lilypad’s eyes flickered open as a beam of morning light hit her face. She stood up and arched her back in a luxurious stretch. She glanced around the loft, checking on her own brood. She was warmed when she saw her two daughters, Misty-leaf and Hazel, curled up with her sister, Amber, in a small nest in the hay. The two girls looked so mature now, their fur thick and healthy. But as Lilypad scanned the edge of the loft, her heart did a sudden, frantic somersault.

Where’s Twig?

“Twig!” Lilypad screamed as soon as she saw him.

Twig was dangerously close to the edge of the loft. But all he saw was a pretty butterfly that he just had to chase. He lifted one heavy, five-month-old paw to bat at it, lost his balance, and slipped right off. Down, down, down the 12-foot drop.

Lilypad didn't even think. She took a springing leap off of the loft. She was plummeting through the air, aiming to get beneath her son before he hit the hard floor. As soon as she landed, her left front paw gave a sickening crack!, and it collapsed under her weight.

A few seconds later, Twig landed roughly on his mother’s back. He giggled, totally unaware of the danger, and hopped off to run and play with Pebbles, Snowflakes’s catling. The poor thing had absolutely no idea how much pain his mother was in.

Lilypad repeatedly tried to stand up to no avail. So instead, she rose to a crouch, and looked down at her paw, which was bleeding heavily. Amber rushed down the ladder of the loft, and hurried over to Lilypad.

“Lilypad! Oh my mouse-tails!” Amber shrieked when she saw her sister’s paw.

“It’s—rgh—nothing,” Lilypad mumbled.

“Nonsense!” Amber screeched.

Amber called over to Boots, who yowled in alarm when he saw Lilypad. Together, they helped the injured queen back up into the loft.

As soon as Lilypad was in a nest, Amber quickly swiped some herbs for both Lilypad to chew to ease the pain, as well as to put on her broken, and bleeding paw.

“Guy’s it’s okay,” Lilypad mewed.

“NO, it is not, if you could see it, you would know,” Boots yowled.

“Take it easy Boots, I was just trying to save our child,” Lilypad shot.

“I know, but look what happened in the process.” Boots whimpered.

“Well, would you rather me have a broken paw, or would you rather a dead son.” Lilypad remarked.

Then, Boots mumbled something she couldn’t hear, and she turned to Amber.

“Is it going to be okay?” Lilypad mewed nervously.

“I don’t know. It was a pretty bad break. But I’ll do everything in my power as a healing cat to fix it.”

“That’s what sisters do?”

“That’s what sisters do.” Amber reassured her.

“Mom,” a tiny voice piped up, “what’s going on?”

Lilypad turned her head and saw Misty toddling toward her.

“Your brother fell off the loft and I jumped off to save him.”

“Is he okay?”

“Yes, he’s okay.”

Misty finally finishes walking over to her mother, and instantly jumps back.

“Are YOU okay?”

“Don’t worry, Misty. I’ll be fine.”

Unsure, Misty curls up with her mother and Lilypad starts to lick Misty’s head gently.

Misty closed her eyes and fell into an unsteady doze. After a few minutes of licking, Lilypad fell asleep as well. Amber purred at the sight of the mother-daughter pair curled up together, and went to her medicine spot in the loft to arrange her herbs, ash, clay, and moss.

In Misty’s head, visions of dark, vast and open land spread through her dreams. “Mom?” she called out.

Nothing. Silence. Suddenly, the ground crumbles beneath her paws. It is as if the earth is swallowing her whole. She falls and falls, then jerks awake. She gets up and pads over to Amber.

“Amber?” the catling mewed.

“What’s on your mind, Misty?”

“I had this weird dream.”

“What kind of weird?” Amber purred eagerly.

“I was standing in this vast, foggy field. And then the earth opened up and swallowed me whole.”

“Misty, on the day you were born, a few weeks ago, I felt something from my mother..”

“WHO?! WHAT?!”

“My mother. She died long, long before you arrived, but I still feel she is with us. I guess that’s one of my many jobs as your mender.”

“Oh,” Misty mewed. “But what does that have to do with me?”

“You, Misty,” Amber purred, “Have been chosen. Chosen to follow the path of a mender. And you will be my mender-leaf, or mender in training.”

“Whoa.”

“Would you like that, Misty?”

“Yes, Amber. Yes I would.” Misty said in amazement.

“Good. Now come here and I’ll show you the Mender-crafts.”

Misty walked over excitedly to Amber, and they got to work.

Chapter 5: Stones, Stems, and Ceremonies

A low moan came from the mossy nest. Lilypad’s eyes flickered, clouded with pain from her broken paw, but they cleared the moment they landed on her daughter standing in the center of the stone rings.

"Misty?" Lilypad rasped, her voice thin.

Amber stepped forward, her tail resting on her sister’s shoulder. "Wait, Lilypad. Watch."

Amber stood tall in the center of the herb-rings, her tail held high. "From this moment until you are a full mender, now you are Misty-leaf. Let our deceased loved ones recognize your paws as the ones that mend."

As the words left Amber’s mouth, the clouds above the broken barn roof parted. A bright beam of sunlight fell from the sky and onto Misty-leaf’s pelt, making it glow a brilliant silver.

Misty-leaf gasped, feeling the warmth sink deep into her fur. It was as if her dead relatives themselves were reaching down from their spirit meadows to touch her. She wasn't just a Misty anymore. She was the chosen one.

Lilypad watched, her heart thumping against her ribs, her own pain forgotten for a heartbeat. "Our family," she breathed, her eyes reflecting the silver light. "They’ve chosen her. My little mender-leaf."

Misty-leaf turned toward her mother, her silver fur still shimmering. "I'm going to fix your paw, Mom. I promise."

Misty-leaf. The name felt strange on her tongue, heavier than "Misty," but it glowed in her mind just like the sunlight had glowed on her fur.

Amber nodded solemnly. "Then we have work to do. The Snap-root ring is empty, and we can't wait for the herbs to come to us. Misty-leaf, it’s time to leave the barn."

"Bye, Mom!" she squeals, and then stops, puffs out her chest, and adds: "I mean—bye from Misty-leaf!"

Amber chuckles, and they head out into the wild world.

***

Misty-leaf gawked at this amazing, green world she’d never seen before. The spring air was both sweet and pungent. The sky was a striking blue with clouds streaked here and there.

Amber nudged her shoulder, her whiskers twitching with a smile. "It's big, isn't it? But don't let the blue sky distract your nose, Misty-leaf. The Snap-root plants doesn't grow in the clouds—it grows where the earth is damp and rich. We're looking for the broad, fuzzy leaves of the Comfrey."

Misty-leaf shook her head, trying to shake off the wonder. "Right. Damp and rich. For Mom."

Suddenly, fuzzy, dark green leaves shot up Misty-leaf’s nose and into her eyes.

“Oof!” Misty-leaf mumbled.

Amber let out a low, rumbling purr of laughter. "That is what we came for. You just walked face-first into your very first Snap-root—the exact kind of plant that we are looking for. That, Misty-leaf, is comfrey.”

Misty-leaf’s nose wrinkled as the tiny, bristly hairs of the plant tickled her whiskers. "A-choo!" she sneezed, her small body jolting backward. "A-choo! A-choo!"

Misty-leaf rubbed her nose with a silver paw, her eyes watering slightly from the sneezing fit. "It... it feels like a thousand tiny caterpillars are crawling all over my face," she managed to squeak, looking at the broad, hairy leaves with a mix of annoyance and curiosity.

"Alright, Misty-leaf," Amber said, her eyes glinting with amusement. "Nose-rubbing is over. Now we need to get these back to the barn. Grab the stem right at the base and pull."

Misty-leaf dove in, determined to prove she was more than just a 'sneezing catling'. She nipped a thick, hairy stem and yanked. The leaves were surprisingly heavy and felt like a giant, fuzzy blanket in her mouth.

"Mphm-ph!" she tried to say, but all that came out was a muffled mumble through a mouthful of green. The bristly hairs tickled her tongue and made her nose itch all over again, but she clamped her jaws shut tight. She wasn't letting go. Not for a single caterpillar hair!

Amber nodded, impressed. "Good. Let's head back. Your mother is waiting for her Snap-root."

Misty-leaf trotted toward the barn door, her tail held as high as she could manage with the heavy bundle of Snap-root in her jaws. Every step felt like she was the best mender-leaf in all of the mender-leaves that came before her. The "caterpillar hairs" were still tickling her tongue, but she didn't care. She was a mender-leaf on a mission.

As they squeezed back through the creaking door, the dusty air of the barn felt like a warm hug.

"Look at her!" Twig squeaked, skidding to a halt near the prey pile. "Misty's got a giant green beard!"

Misty-leaf tried to glare at him, but it’s hard to look tough with leaves sticking out of your mouth. She ignored his teasing and headed straight for the medicine area in the loft where Lilypad was waiting. She wasn't just "Misty" anymore. She was the cat with the cure.

Misty-leaf hauled herself up the ladder to the loft, dropped the comfrey at the top, and started breaking it up so it would fit in the stone ring. She gathered up the bits of green and plopped them into the ring of stones where they belonged.

“My little mender-leaf. Look at you.” Lilypad purred.

A warm pride swelled in Misty-leaf’s chest. She was Misty-leaf.

Chapter 6: The Dream

That night, the stars shone bright above the barn. Misty-leaf slept soundly. For a little while, at least. She was back on the moor, and saw a brown tabby pelt in the distance. “Why is their fur so shiny?” she wondered.

She called out and the tabby turned toward her. Misty-leaf sprinted toward the she-cat. Finally, she reached the strange cat.

“Who are you?” Misty-leaf asked.

“Who are you?” The cat said.

“M-my name is Misty-leaf. I’m the mender-leaf of Amber.”

“Amber? Is she your mother?”

“No, she’s my aunt. My mother is Lilypad.”

“Lilypad and Amber are my daughters.”

“S-so you’re my grandmother?” Misty-leaf questioned.

“It would seem so.” The cat replied. “My name is Blossom.”’

“Blossom. I like that name.”

“Thank you, Misty-leaf.”

“How come I have never met you before.”

Blossom gave Misty-leaf a solemn look and turned away a few pawsteps.

“Oh. Wait – that means – you’re…..dead? Did you come to help me?” Misty-leaf gasped.

“You are right, Misty-leaf. I died a very long time ago. Yet, I haven’t come to help you. I came because I had to know what’s been happening. Do you have any siblings?”

“Yes, two: Twig, my brother, and my sister, Hazel.”

“Seems my family will stay strong then, hmm?”

“Yes, Blossom, it will.” Misty-leaf purred.

“I have to go now, Misty-leaf. But I will come back.”

“And I will wait for you every night and day, Blossom.”

Blossom nodded lovingly, then faded into nothingness. Misty-leaf bowed her head, and awoke.

***

Misty-leaf nearly leapt out of her nest, and hurtled across the loft toward Amber. “Amber! Wake up!” she screeched, nudging Amber. “I’ve had another dream!”

Amber groggily opened her eyes and mewed, “What was it about?” And sat up hurriedly.

Misty-leaf quickly explained the open moor and the shiny tabby cat.

“She had a shiny pelt, like there was spirit dust in her fur. She said her name was Blossom, Amber.” she gushed. “She said she was your mother.”

“Blossom?” she asked. “She c-came to you? In a dream? Are you sure of what you're saying?”

“Yes!” Misty-leaf exclaimed.

Misty-leaf watched as a single tear rolled down Amber’s cheek silently. Finally, Amber said.

“Go back to sleep, Misty-leaf. We’ll discuss this in the morning.”

“But-”

“Sleep.” Amber hissed.

Misty-leaf trudged back to her nest, plopped down and wondered why Amber had gotten so angry when she had mentioned her mother. Finally, Misty-leaf fell into an unsteady doze.

Chapter 7: The Truth

Misty-leaf's eyes flickered open, and she saw Amber organizing herbs.

"Amber?" she mewed nervously.

"You think I'm upset because she came to you last night, don't you." Amber hissed.

"Well, sort of."

"Well, then you're wrong."

"Then why are you so upset?"

Silence.

"Amber?"

"Because I'm the reason she's dead." Amber choked. "She died saving me from a hungry wolf."

"Oh, Amber. I'm so sorry."

She'd had no idea what had happened to Blossom, but now it started making sense.

"From then on, I decided that if I couldn't save her, I would die trying to save everyone else."

It was then that Misty-leaf realized that instead of Amber's mother being a happy memory, she was a reminder of pain, shame, and loss. Misty-leaf understood why Amber had been so upset at the mention of Blossom's name.

"Amber, it's not your fault." she mewed.

"It's as every bit my fault as the wolf that killed her." Amber sobbed, tears now running down her cheeks soaking her slick black pelt.

Misty-leaf padded over to her aunt and pressed her muzzle into Amber's fur.

"I am so, so sorry." Misty-leaf murmured.

Amber wrapped her tail tightly around Misty-leaf, and after a little bit her breathing eventually slowed.

“Alright, enough moping.” Amber said, wiping tears from her eyes with her tail. “Time to work on your mother’s paw.”

Misty-leaf grabbed the snap-root gel and some moss, and headed over to her mother. She put some of the snap-root substance on her paws, and just about as she was about to spread it on the wound, she felt a strange warmth coming from her own paws.

“Blossom….” she said. “She forgives you Amber, she forgives you. I can feel it in my paws”

Amber smiled, and Misty-leaf finished wiping the goo onto her mother’s wound. Misty-leaf lifted up and peered her paws as the warmth faded. Then she heard, “Misty-leaf! How?! It’s gone! The pain, the fire in my leg, it’s gone!”

“I saw a sign,” Misty-leaf said in an overly dramatic voice, placing her paw on her forehead. “Right before I spread the snap-root mixture. It was your mother, Blossom. I’ve met her in a dream before, but now she has given you the forgiveness and peace to rest well tonight.”

“Let us all thank and praise our lost family and friends.” Amber purred.

“A-greed.” Lilypad mewed and stretched her leg in exaggeration.

They all laughed. The truth was free, and the burdens lifted.

Is this warrior cats fanfiction? Because if it is it might of convinced me to go read warrior cats. I think I understand why people enjoy those books now. This was absolutely charming. My favorite part was when Misty-leaf is collecting leaves. It's absolutely adorable, and descriptions are really well done.

Also I think it's really smart of you to put chapters together in one single part because of how many points it costs to post on here. Although, I would recommend lessening the amount of blank space before chapter 1, and in-between the individual chapters. At first I thought this was completely blank entry because all of the writing was so far down. Same goes for the end so it's a lot of scrolling.

Another small recommendation would be to try and describe the surroundings a bit more. Other than that though I have no other recommendations. Keep up the great work, my dude.

Honestly, as the author, this book was super fun to write. So sorry it's only Part 1, but my thing exceeded word count. Oops! Anyway, I am just so glad to finally find somewhere that young authors can share their amazing work. It's time to keep writing!!
