Jam's thoughts

"Yawn." I opened my eyes, pushing my wavy brown hair out of my eyes.

Right in front of me were two green eyes, with red-brown wavy hair.

"Good morning Jamie, " Elisa told me, "what time is it?"

I rolled on to my stomach and found my watch, "It's 9:21."

"Oh, thanks." She replied.

"Let's go wake up the others." I said.

We open the door to Primrose's and Katilin's room.

"Ooooo," Elisa said in a creepy voice, "I'm hungry for some Kit Kats!"

"Aah!" Katilin screamed.

We started laughing. "Look at your faces!"

"Geez, you guys woke us up!" Sarai and Emma said, coming into Katilin's and Rose's room.

"What are you guys doing!" Emma said.

"I know, why are you in here?" Sarai asked.

"I got a call from my dad. He's getting a new job, which means.....," I answered, soberly.

"You can't go!" They all yelled in unison. "What about your mom? Can't you stay with her?"

"I would, but I'm supposed to go with my dad, it's 'his time' right now. Man, I wish my parents were still together. They don't even think about me or my brother. I can't stay with Joe, cause he's with all his friends." I started to cry.

"Jamie, it's gonna be all right. You can stay here." Emma's green-blue eyes started to tear up, too, and she used her blonde hair to wipe her tears away.

"We can ask our parents about you staying with us." Sarai stated, pulling her own blonde-brown hair from her hazel eyes.

Katilin stood up pulling her blonde hair in a pony tail. Her gold-green eyes looked determined. "Me and Rose can help too!"

Rose stood up, her curly brown hair weaving down her back, as her brown eyes stared at me. "We'll work this it out, Jamie, ok?"

"Alright." I said, and everyone hugged me at once.

We went to the library the next day, trying to find out what to do. Me and Emma immediately ran to the romantic teen books, because we really like romancey reading! Rose and Kit Kat went to a corner and started writing stories, like usual. Sarai and Elisa joined us once we all picked up books. When we sat down all at one table, six good looking boys, in the table over, stared at us. We, of course, unconsciously started picking at our clothes, trying to figure out why boys are staring at us, except Emma, who was making staring at them. We all felt uncomfortable, so we started packing up. When we stood to leave, we heard a boy cry out, "Wait!"

We turned around, and a boy with brown hair was standing up.

"Who are you?" He asked.

We all introduced ourselves,

"Uh, I'm Rose,"

"I'm Katilin,"

"I'm Emma,"

"Hey, I am Sarai,"

"Hi, I'm Elisa,"

until there was only me left.

In a tiny voice, I said, "I'm Jamie."

The guys all stood up and said their names,

"Huh, my name's Ross,"

"I'm Kendrick, "

"Hey, I'm Ernesto,"

"Hi, I'm Zeke,"

"I'm Emre,"

and last but not least,

"I'm Luke."

"Well, we gotta go, so, bye," Primrose said, "nice to meet you, Ross, Kendrick, Ernesto, Zeke, Emre, and Luke."

"Wait!" Ross said for the second time.

"What?" We said in unison.

"You girls look like us, a lot. Can we compare each other?" They said in unison this time.

"Hmph," we said, agreeing.

"Wow!" I said, "Rose, and Ross, you look like identical! You both have brown hair and eyes. Katilin and Kendrick, you two are the same blonde color and golden green eyes. I can't forget Emma and Ernesto, who both have kinda dirty blond hair, and green-blue eyes. Elisa and Emre, you both have green-like eyes and red brown hair! Sarai, you and Zeke have the same hazel blue eyes, and blond brown hair. This is soooo exciting!"

"Uh, you forgot someone!" Luke stepped in front of me.

"Ohkay, who looks like you," I say, searching the room.

Luke looks at me like I'm an idiot. "Uh, it's you!"

I answer back, "Please, we don't look at all alike. I have stupid brown eyes and hair. Look at you! You have like these amazing hazel-blue eyes and awesome golden brown hair. There's a pretty girl over there, why don't you go near her. I have to go, sorry. Have fun!"

I fled before Luke could respond, and ran home.

After a couple hours, the girls came home with phone numbers from the guys. They were all laughing, so, I snuck out when I heard them talking about how cute so and so is, and how like me and ... are, because they would've been all concerned, probably. I left the door open for a second, and hear their conversation.

"Hey where's Jamie?" I heard someone say.

"I don't know, and kinda don't care. She always ruin our moments with guys." That must have been Emma.

She does complain about me scaring boys away, but not that meanly. And everyone said that she's right. When I heard that, I closed the door very softly and walked to a nearby tea shop. I started crying the second I sat down. People looked at me like I was insane. At that moment, I really didn't care. After about a half hour, I think, Rose and Katilin were standing in front of me.

"Jamie, what's wrong?" Primrose asked quietly.

"Why do you think? Sorry for embarrassing you guys again." I answered my voice a whisper.

"Jamie, you didn't embarrass us." Kit Kat told me.

"Well, I sure did to Emma, now did I?" I replied.

"Yeah, you did." I heard her voice. "I would be able to make a pretty long list of guys who LIKED me, but YOU scared them away. And this time, everyone had a guy like them. Except you, guess you were SO jealous, you couldn't let ANYONE be happy for a freakin minute!"

She got right in my face now, "Poor, poor Luke.  He got stuck with you! Ew! Actually, " she smiled now, "he did get pretty close to that really hot brunette who did look like him. So, all the guys are taken. Guess we don't need you anymore! We have Annalise now! Bye bye!"

I stood up slowly, seeing all my 'friends' there, and what do yah know, Annalise. "Ok, see ya guys in a little while. It might take me a half hour or so to get my stuff packed up. Annalise, you'll be bunking with Elisa, have fun. And have fun with all your new boyfriends!" I waved goodbye.

Not to my surprise, no one followed me out. Or so I thought! When I was crossing the street to my not-house now, I saw someone in the shadows. I sigh, and cross my arms across my chest.

"Who is it?" I called. "Don't act like your not there, I can see you."

"Uh, it's Luke." I heard him say.

"What do you want?" I asked him.

"I want to know what happened in the shop. " I was unsurprised.

Eager to get rid of him, and to leave this place for like ever, I told him, "Go ask Emma about it. She'll tell you the truth. You don't wanna hear it from me."

"Jamie..." I heard him whisper.

"What?" I yelled.

"I wanted to talk to you." Luke said.

"Alright, of what." I reluctantly said.

"I like this girl, but I don't think she likes me." He said.

"Ok, this is simple! Be a man, and ask her out. Or hangout with her, ask her to go to the movies with some friends, or something. Is that all?" I answered.

"Uh, yeah. Thanks." He started walking away.

I whispered really quietly, and said, "I hope you and Annalise are happy."

The next day, the only girls who talked to me were rose and kit kat.

"Jam?" I heard rose say.

"Yeah?" I replied.

"I know you wanna leave, but in a week me and kit kat are gonna live a new house." She answered.

"Really?" I was shocked.

"Yeah, it's true. And you can live with us!" Kit Kat squealed.

"I can!" I said.

"Yes, you can." They eagerly said.

"Thanks. I'm done with my packing." I said.

"We're gonna be bunk mates!" We screamed.

~~~~~2 weeks passed
"OMG! I'm soooo happy were finally together!" I exclaimed, and kit Kat and rose nodded in earnest.
We were exhausted by the time we finished unpacking everything, so we collapsed on our beds in the huge master suite We quickly fell asleep.
I'm not to sure what to say to this. I think if you give a little more description on each character then it would a lot better. I also was a few grammar mistakes but I'm not really putting that against it because I suck at grammar. This story has real potential in it. I think the more you work on it and revise it the better it'll be. Keep on writing don't let anyone discourage you in anything you do. :)
Hello.
I'll be honest. I didn't get very far in this. The idea has promise, but the writing isn't really grabbing me, between dialogue punctuation issues and not really getting into the character's heads.
Your dialogue punctuation is the reverse of what it should be. Proper dialogue punctuation would look like this:
"Who are you?" he asked .<- lowercase
We all introduced ourselves,
"Uh, I'm Rose." <- period
"I'm Katilin." <- period
"Uh, it's Luke," I heard him say. <- comma instead of period
Your punctuation is correct here:
In a tiny voice, I said, "I'm Jamie."
This article goes into more depth.
Repetition is also fairly easy to fix: reread the draft over and highlight every word that's the same within a short distance (ie- your use of eyes three times in two sentences at the beginning, there), then find a way to remove it. Do not do this by grabbing your thesaurus and switching out words for fancier variations. That would turn this into what's called purple prose and people don't like purple prose because it's needlessly fancy and hard to read.
Instead, change your sentences from the ground up. Focus on new things instead of what you'd just mentioned. For example, your first sentence could read, "I pushed my wavy brown hair out of my face" instead of "out of my eyes." Changing your second sentence is harder, which leads to my next point.
Your first person is thin. The advantage of first person is you live inside your character's head. This means you see everything from the character's perspective. The prose reflects their thought patterns, you can insert their remarks on practically everything, and basically you have every single little thing the character does or thinks available to you.
Use this advantage. Don't list events, but instead give us the character's emotions, reactions, attitude of the surroundings. Keeping this in mind, I'd rewrite your second sentence to reflect this. Say Elise's name, and say Jamie's reaction to Elise being so close to her immediately upon waking up. Is it fear? Anger? A yelp? Or noncommental because she does this so often (if that is the case please mention she does this so often Jamie's used to it).
Do this throughout. Let us have Jamie's reactions and emotions so we really get to see things from her perspective. It's her head. Let us explore. This article goes into more depth.
First person narration can also carry through a beginning. A good character voice can make pretty much anything interesting to read about. The reason I bring up your beginning is you need to grab us immediately. Give us a reason to keep reading. This can be basically anything, so long as you start with something interesting. Being woken up by somebody a few inches away from your nose can be very interesting if written well, for example. It's an unusual event and it gets us asking "why is she being woken up like that?". You usually answer that question only to provide us with another, and we keep reading just to find out the answers.
Beginnings are covered more in-depth here.
Hopefully this helps. PM me if you have any questions or comments.
hmmmm...i don't know what to say. It was ok, but lacked a lot of thing. It would have been good to expand the characters a little. Discribing the surroundings would have definately been nice too.
