Darkness fading. Part 4

by Killer-Ewok

Arieras looked down from above the scorched brown wood. His bright gleaming blue eyes shining against his dirt covered face. He noticed two of the vile green skinned creatures finding over the corpse of a boar.

The apparent leader, wearing dull Grey metal waved his dark leathery hands wildly in the air. Two more orcs joined the third on facing the leader.

The three orcs in turn waved their brighter green skin around the bug ridden forest. Each roaring with enough ferocity to scare of a lion.

Arieras couldn't help but smile when he saw the leader had taken out his Axe. Its blade was blackened with dirt and dark dried blood. It had many chips taken out of the blade and the shaft looked like it was battered by a mace.

More orcs rushed to the scene, splitting into two groups, each waving their dull metal blades around in the air wildly. the forest swayed as the roaring of the orcs grew.

Arieras raised his dirt covered hands and whistled into it. he made the sound of a common bird.

"That's the pattern" Yarel whispered. "Lets go."

Arieras climbed over to the next tree, then the next and climbed down.

He stuck to the bushes and the shadows. He went around the big gathering of orcs and headed to their camp. Arieras ducked down by several trees as he sighted the wall. Arieras counted 12 guards on the front of the wall.

His blue eyes lit up as the sunlight crawled through the gaps of the dead trees. He began another series of short whistles.

Arrows flew over head, soaring through the bright sky.

Dark red blood splattered amongst the walls as the arrows pierced the orcs chests. Arieras noted more orcs running to the wall, they loaded their arrows and lit them. their fiery blaze lighting up the dead trees. They shot randomly into the forest. The wind picked up and forest lit up in a blaze.

The horde of orcs finally stopped when they saw the fire, they rushed back to their camp, but the red blazing wall stopped them. The orc archers continued to fire into the trees.

Arieras couldn't help but let out a light chuckle as he meet up with the other rangers. they had already began climbing the back of the fortress.
