Hey there, Judy!
First of all I want to say that this is formatted beautifully! Kudos to you; the effort you put into this is not hard to see.
You write this very matter-a-factly, which is good, but at the same time I got a bit bored while reading this. It feels more like you were strapped down and forced to write this than you simply wanting to get this information out! Open up a bit more- I know this is an essay but you know what? You can inject some humour into just about anything, it makes the information that you're saying impact the reader a heck of a lot more, and it also has a longer lasting effect on their memory! Because as it is, this feels like something you'd hand to your English professor, rather than a group of young writers (which is good, if you're handing it to your English professor).
I read a lot of writer self-help books, it's kind of an addiction. And I always like to think that the reason those books are so entertaining, is because they're written by writers (who else can make a "how to" book a riveting page-turner?). It's like if a comedian were to explain their craft. Imagine that. When writers write about how they do their art, you can feel the passion radiating through the page, because they simply love it. Plus they've learnt that you can find humour in just about anything. So I regress, show us your wild side! Instructions and advice are always more fun when we can relate, and laugh.
I find this piece of advice a bit odd. Research is very important in article/essay writing, but I don't think it's what motivates people to write them. When something intrigues me, that's when I decide to research it so that I can know more about it and explain my findings in an interesting manner. Also you start by saying "Establishing what should be presented in a particular piece can be stressing." which to me gives the indication that you're going to give us something to lessen the stress, but instead you tell us that there's only more work. It's not very encouraging for a piece titled Tools That Will Make Your Writing Process Easier.
In any case, keep it up! Hope to see more of your work around!
