Dear Ex,

Why are you so hateful?
So rude and unkind?
I know you have problems,
But get over it! So do I!

What in the world
Are you getting out of this?
Other than looking miserable
And throwing a constant fit?

You try to look so cool by coming off as tough
But I see right through you. This is way past enough!

It is really quite sad how you’re dealing with this.
You whine and complain about the past.
About how I have hurt you and done you wrong.

However, the past is the past and it is over and done.
By holding this grudge, what have you won?
I am sick of the attitude and the obvious ignoring.
Well, whoop-di-doo for you! It’s getting a little boring.

You are so self-righteous and “under control”.
In reality it just looks like you are being a troll.

You’re not gaining anything by being rude to me.
I’m through with it and it’s out of my mind.
By now for you it also should be.

Great poem! In my eyes, I can honestly say that I can definitely relate to this because of the strong and bitter emotion of anger that is a symptom of past hurt, humiliation, frustration, etc. I have experienced these things and it hurts like hell to say the least, which explains the burst of anger that was evidently caged in as an attempt to contain the beast within. But of course over time, the longer the beast remains locked up, the angrier it becomes. There are some things that you just have to release in order for a certain level of relief to set in. I believe this was written based off of a real relationship that you may have had and you kept the hurt and bitterness bottled up inside you. So this poem is an outlet of that rage which in most cases I believe is a great way to write a poem. Poetry in my opinion is an art that carries a certain amount of raw emotion and feelings that are expressed in an artistic way. No matter what people say, it will never explain the art of poetry that translates the language of the heart. Great Poem keep writing :-)

To me, it seems like this really was written out of a lot of anger, and maybe that's why the poem isn't that polished. But that very effect right there gives it that raw element, that emotion that you're trying to show to the reader, and it does it very well.

You can tell the narrator is extremely angry at what has happened and just wants to get it all out. The pace is fast, really fast, as though the narrator is trying to get the words out as quickly as possible, like the anger has been there for a while, just bursting to get out.

I would say that the poem does read a little like a rap almost? It just seems like, when you read it out loud and the punctuation drives you to read it faster and faster, that it's almost like a rap.

I feel like this is written out of anger, on the spur of the moment. It is a very well thought out poem, of cores!

-It is easy to relate to!

-It is well thought out!

-It RHYMES! (which you would think is not a good accomplishment, I mean we've been doing it since Kindergarten, but this is actually the first poem I've read on here that rhymes... WOO!)

In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on.
