I sit in a tree.
But I am the tree.
So how can I be sitting in it?
Peaceful, Quiet
Ready for any storm to come my way
My brethren trees
Plant themselves in a
garbage facility.
Where pollution waits to suck the life from them.
I am alone
In a lonely field,
Next to a rushing river.
Where storms come, and storms go
But I still stand.
Peaceful, Quiet
Ready for any storm to come my way
I’ve seen wars fought,
People die,
widows cry
And sit at my trunk begging for their loves safe yet impossible return…
The wind blows
The rain comes and goes
But I still remain, as a peaceful giant.
I watch as with
One gust of wind
My brethren fall
In a hell-storm of rain and fire
But I remain…
Peaceful, Quiet
Ready for any storm to come my way

Hello writer! I would like to write something about your poem.I actually love it and find your sense of imagining things very powerful.Being a reader,I am so pulled by your poem that I go on flowing with the poem. Really nice work and keep writing.I am very new here and thus have no precise idea about reviewing works. So pardon me if its not up to the mark.Just have a small complain do write bigger extracts to make it more alive.
Love Urvika
Thank you so much on your input!
I do have a question, when you say "Bigger extracts" what do you mean?
I would love to expand on this poem. It is one of my favorites!
thank you again!
Just so you know, mind blown within the first three lines. So simple, yet so trippy. To moi, at least.
I feel like this entire thing is one big metaphor, made up of smaller ones. (There's a name for that I think)
This "tree" let's life pass it by, but is also not going to take any flack without a fight. It was abandoned by/ torn away from its family, forced to watch their lives take a devastating turn. Maybe it feels guilty that for being the only survivor, for being the only one strong enough to withstand nature's wrathful "storms". That's just what I take from it, anyway.
Wonderful piece of work, like always!
