I read this not long ago (along with Eragon) and I LOVED both. (The movie is good - if you haven't read the books.)
Oromis and his dragon - yes, it was obviously coming, but they were written terrifically! The ending of the book wasn't bad, and I must admit I was a little bit shocked, but, yes, it was also coming.
Paolini's fighting scenes are amazingly written and you can simply see the battles as if you were on the field yourself.
What did you think?

Your comment was posted, but it wasn’t long enough to count as a review. Reviews need about four complete sentences (at least 250 characters). Try writing another review that explains your thoughts in more detail — the author will appreciate it, and you’ll earn points for it.

Hehehe... yes indeed!
Although, I don't think I have the heart to be so cruel! If you want to know what most of us think, find the "Eragon" and "Your Opinion of Paolini" threads. I think they're both around the Book Reviews forum, or somewhere like that.
