I'm sorry

PreviousNext

I'm sorry I didn't pick up

When you needed me most

But it was three In the morning

And I was asleep

I'm sorry I didn't message

When things weren't alright

But I was at a family dinner

And I was busy all night.

I'm sorry I wasn't there

When things fell apart

But I was at home reading

About a girl and her heart.

I'm sorry I didn't turn up

When they put you in the ground

But I was at home crying

As my world fell apart.

I wonder if

I'd answered you're text, you're call

Would it have changed anything at all?

Or would I still be sitting here alone, hurting from you're last choice?

Hi, J here for a review,
I have been reading and writing poetry since I was very young and I can say that this type of poem about losing someone then blaming yourself pops up all the time. You really did a good job showing how much you cared about this person and you did a wonderful job on the sincere excuses you gave him.
I love reading poems that have an apologetic undertone that tells a sad story. I enjoyed the severe cliff hanger "Or would I still be sitting there hurting from your last choice" I'm guessing suicide.
I don't have any terrible notes for this poem except for it made me cry, and I'm not an emotional person so that is hard to do.
Good Job and Keep Writing!!

Hi. this is man134. i'm here to review your work.

First off, this pome was very touching and serene in the tone. it shows how much you care about this person and the sincere excuse you gave him/her. the emotional tone was superb with the apologetic and sympathetic undertone. the imagery was brilliant and ingenious.

this poem is very beautiful and it gives off a nice moral lesson within the story. always be there for your friends and/ or loved ones. you can't reach to them, always make it up to them and come up with a sincere excuse that is understandable and reasonable.

This was a very good poem. i loved every minute of it and enjoyed the romantic and sobered stanza lines all the way. i hope to read more of it and i hope that every one of the newer poems are as great as this.

Hey there, Rebin here! This is a really interesting poem and I enjoyed reading it. I love the theme in this and the format is great! The grammar could use some work with spelling and I feel that, "When you needed me most" would be more effective if you added "the" before "most" to make it flow better. The repetition in the beginning ("But it was three In the morning", "But I was at a family dinner", "But I was at home reading") was great, but kind of faded away at the end. And at the end when you wrote, "hurting from you're last choice?" was kind of a cliff hanger and I'm curious about what choice. Maybe add some more description to the "choice". Otherwise, this piece is great keep up the writing! :)

Hey, Jaysea! VegasLights here to give you a review!

This poem was really touching and beautifully written. I have recently lost a friend and the last four lines of your poem matched how I felt. I don't know if this is something you've experienced recently or earlier, or even if you did but it was as if you have because I felt the emotions through the piece. Your poem has strong points, but sadly it has its weak points too.

Some things that I thought could be fixed were punctuation and emotions. In the first and second stanza there needs to be more punctuation because your flow isn't right without it. For example, line two needs a comma at the end and line four needs a period. Line six also needs a comma and line eleven does too.

Emotions. You need more emotions throughout your poem, I know this is a sad poem because of the theme but I need to see those emotions. Describe the feelings of losing her\him and how you felt when you didn't answer their call. I mean did you feel guilty or were you completely fine? Were you torn apart by their last choice or did you feel hurt because you didn't help them? I know you said you were crying but exactly what were you feeling in that moment, rather than telling us show us.

Overall, I think your poem is really beautiful and has a good message. There was only those few things I would change about your poem besides that I really do love it. Not only because it gives everyone a message but because it is something that a few people experience in their life. Sadly, all reviews must come to an end and here is the end of this one. I thank you for your time and I hope you have a great day!
