I feel God’s love.
I'm comforted by his hand when I cry.
I see his mighty works.
I saw him change lives of many people.
I can feel the joy, wonder, awe, and above all –love.
Then, why do I go on with my life like before?
Before I realized what I believed.
Before I saw the work of God’s hands.
Before it was easy.
I just trusted my daddy,
Now I have to explain to my friends why I stay with my God.
Before I went to church because that’s what we do on Sunday’s,
Now I have to remind myself that it has to go on pass Sunday worship.
I call myself a Christian,
But I feel like a hypocrite.
I try to show people that I believe,
But then I just go on living as before.
I don’t want to live like that anymore!
I want to live as Christ wants us to!
Now is the time to change!
I refuse to go on as before!
We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. -1 John 2:3-6

Great job JaneAusten!
This was sweet because I know your dad is a pastor!I have to say I can totally relate! I believe Christianity is one thing that isn't just a one time deal, that's for sure........ it's all of us taking baby steps in the right direction all of our lives! Which is HARD, i agree!!
I bet he knows a LOT, so it was probably easy to say, "ooo, yeah, i totally understand.... i think." (when you were younger)
This poem also gives VIVID descriptions in the very first paragraph, it's my favorite! Just know, once you experience God like that...(also how I experienced Him) it's just a learning experience from there. We know what He's like, and it is harder to go back to our old life!
I really don't have anything grammar-wise! It's great!
It's hard living like a true Christian in today's world, hypocrisy even comes from many people who claim to be Christian, or Muslim, or Jewish, but then act in confliction with their religion's teachings (westboro baptist church).
This was very well written, and painted a great picture,
GOOD LUCK!
I like this a lot because of the way it expresses your feelings. I can relate to how hard it can be sometimes to be a Christian and always follow Him! I think everyday it is becoming harder and harder to continue to follow him! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, I appreciate you reading it. All of you.
I LOVE IT!!! Seriously, I loved this part
This poem is just what my sister, livurdestiny, would like. I will ask her to read it. She'll love it, just like I did...
I changed the bible verses at the end of this poem I think theses fit better than Micah 6:8. Thanks for reading and reviewing!!!
Now what I liked about the poem was the great message behind it. The message of 'going back to your Lord' and that's what Prophet Jesus (Isa in the Quran) Peace be Upon Him, taught us. This one touched me, must say....
Even though I'm a Muslim. I too can relate to these lines. As the shame one feels when one sees his own hypocritic tendencies does lead us all to the refuge of prayer...
Keep writing.
"... And in their footsteps We sent Jesus the son of Mary, confirming the Law that had come before him: We sent him the Gospel: therein was guidance and light, and confirmation of the Law that had come before him: a guidance and an admonition to those who fear Allah.
Let the people of the Gospel judge by what Allah hath revealed therein. If any do fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are (no better than) those who rebel."
— The Quran, 5:46,47
I liked this alot. Maybe becuase I can relate. It's so hard sometimes to bear the name 'Christian' because of feeling like a hypocrite. And I liked how you expressed that here. But as long as you remember who you are, and that being a Christian, simply means you have a relationship with God... it gets a bit easier. Don't be afraid to explain it. The love of God is a poweful thing. We all sin, everyday. But everytime we ask. He washes that sin away.
Keep writing,
God Bless,
Amber.
