Amazing...:p -Neonmask
For the following, let me give an explanation: I'm new here, and I'm not precisely sure how these reviews work, so I'm going to go ahead and be honest. If that's not what one is supposed to do, disregard the rest of this comment.
I'll be blunt: I didn't like it. I didn't like the message, I didn't like the words you used, I didn't even like the poetic form.
First off; the word negligent in the last line of the second stanza. You didn't use that word correctly. Do you know what it means?
Anyway, the message of the poem: What was it? Basically what I saw here -and correct me if I'm wrong- I saw someone complaining about what humans are doing. Well great... what I fail to see is a suggestion on how to fix it. You speak of 'looking for a solution,' yet I see none offered up. Where is your magic hippie wand to save the planet? Don't have one? Then what do you suggest we do?
Truth is, there isn't a simple solution to the worlds problems. Take forestry for example: In my neck of the woods ... so to speak... the timber industry is one of the few jobs available to men who have not gone to college, or at least one of the few with a living wage. Without this in my home state's economy, poverty (which I believe you whined about in the next stanza) would be much more rampant. Besides which, a working forest is a lot less likely to burn out of control. Don't get me wrong, wild fires are part of a healthy forest's life cycle, but think of all the homes among the trees. Wildfires are just that, wild, and hard to contain. Talk about poverty!
That is just a subset of the myriad of complications to go with the world's problems. I just don't think that this poem was very thoughtful, wise, or worthy of note.
Whining is whining, even if you put it in stanzas.
Hello, first of all everything in your poem is true. The only thing changing the world is humans.
I'd like to say that I liked how you went from one topic to another throughout the poem.
You just didn't stay on one topic (which would've be fine), but you spiced things up a little bit.
I also enjoyed how at the end you ended it off with a little question. I think its amazing to let the reader think for a little bit after the poem.
Overall I enjoyed your poem.
