Imagine this song being a country song...maybe Taylor Swift

i was driving down route 18/passed some fools making a big scene/and the sun was low/ the moon was high, at the same time/ and the gas was on E/dreamt about you while I was awake/ saw your name in a license plate/ thought that I had driven by/ our spot, a thousand times/ you and me, we are a thing of the past/ ain't nothing gonna get us back/ this countryside is just a melody/ of sorrow, it lulls me to sleep//

CHORUS: dry your eyes baby don't you cry she said/ wait awhile it will come back to you/ you wantta go be so lonely/ ride the night away and you don't sleep/ mama please, let me go/ why should I stay here, he don't hold/ let me be, this town's too small for me/ and my dreams/ and he...

see I was gonna eat over there/ in that diner but the people stared/ in the mtns, ain't no room for me/ I see nothing but a scary scene/ tell me how did my life turn into this/ another sad country song/ I was a rock n roller riding high/ then you dumped and down was I/ it's a windy path to the future/ I don't know what's ahead/ of this street, this road, this turn/ these headlights/ my eyes//

CHORUS

(quietly) told me to go/ there's one stoplight in my old home/ everyone in town knew me/ bye-bye old street/it's a long way for me to go/ where I'll stop, I don't know/ what were those fools doing, they're in love/ like me, last week/ I saw you in my rearview mirror/ and I saw all my mistakes/ and mama told that a woman takes/ a good soul to say I'm sorry/ so I turn around this oldsmobile and head on back/ there's some things I need to say to you/ take me back, as the sun, comes up on me

CHORUS
gonna go with me/you gonna come with me :thud:

I agree with the person above. I could imagine hearing this in song form, unlike most other lyrics I read. Taylor Swift matches this perfectly! It would be a song I would probably listen to. The words flow together very well as a song should.
Nice job.

I know history. There are many names in history, but none of them are ours.
