Whiskeybreath Beerbelly

PreviousNext

Walk into a bar,

Sit down,

Eyes on the bartender,

Mouth watering for two reasons,

-

Cash or tab?

Hand over some money

you don't really have,

Night's feeling sunny,

-

Wow, she just got cute,

I just realized that I'm sad,

I just realized that I'm lonely,

But she looks single,

-

But I'm not single,

Stupid ring,

Let's go home,

Have some more drinks,

-

It's cheaper to drink at home,

And cheaper to drink alone,

alone.......

Alone......

-

God, I miss her....

She used to drink with me,

I felt less alone,

And didn't mind the extra money,

-

Alone now....

-

Drink some more,

Drown the depression,

"It's anxiety..."

You're so smart, Mr.Glasses,

-

4 months,

23 days,

that sucked...

-

But this time,

2 years,

worst case

6 years,

-

She'll come back...

I know she will....

-

She has too.....

She loves me, right?

-

I don't know where she is,

But I know she is thinking about me,

We both count the days,

I know where I am,

I see myself stuck in a bottle,

-

Wannabe musician,

Wannabe Husband,

Want to feel loved by the woman who loves me,

And want to make her feel loved,

-

My name is Whiskeybreath Beerbelly,

And my story is long and sad,

but my memory is fuzzy,

The dreams are starting again...

-

She loves me, right?

The sound,

The embrace,

The intoxication of love,

Withdrawl drains me,

-

I'm supposed to hold on,

Wait for her,

I'm patient,

But my hands are sweating,

Grip is hard to find,

I'm afraid of slipping,

I can only hold on so tight,

-

If I didn't really love her

I would already be crushed by the next train,

If she didn't really love me,

I wouldn't have put her through so much pain,

I tried to keep her safe,

But we got caught,

-

Now, the abuse is worse,

Horribly mistreated, distrusted,

Her parents hate me,

Her parents hate her,

She doesn't deserve this...

Why me?

-

Things went so bad...

She scratched her name in my wall,

I look at it every night,

I look at the pictures we took together,

I don't cry....

-

Walk into a bar,

Sit down,

Eyes on the bartender,

"What'll it be, Mr. B?"

-

-

(She scratched her name into my wall,

I scratched my name into her back,

I order my drinks tall,

then drink until it goes black.)

Wow you weren't kidding when you said unreviewable. It suffers from being too long like a fellow reviewer pointed out, it draws out too long and leaves the reader uninterested and also at a point it becomes very confusing. I believe you should rewrite it.

nah... I like it. Unreviewable.

This poem reminds me of someone I used to know...hmm... May I ask what inspired it? Also, I’m gonna write a quick review.
Narrative poem! I love narrative poetry, and you’ve done it really well. However, it is a bit lengthy. Would it kill you to remove a couple stanzas?
Also, it’s riddled with typos. When you proof read, scan every single line. Scan until you can’t scan anymore.
ANYWAY I thought this poem was really good as a whole, made me FEEL! Love that. Have a nice day! Jesus loves you!

The "inspiration" for this poem is completely real life. This is one of my completely personal stories and I don't feel the need to polish them. What are you thinking when you say "This poem reminds me of someone I used to know...hmm... May I ask what inspired it?"

Just made me think of something in the past

HELLO! Unreviewable, eh? Do I smell a challenge? HEHEHE NastyMajesty poppin' in her for a review. Okay, let's just jump right into it.
Grows

Her parents hate me,

Her parents hater her,
YES, I FOUND A MISTAKE! LOL I'm guessing you meant hated or hate here instead of hater ;)
And that's it for the grows xD.

Glows

This poem is so sad :( I LOVE IT. You had a really great flow all throughout your poem and I felt great sympathy for... Whiskeybreath Beerbelly xD (great name by the way). Each stanza really connected with the others and you did a great job at telling his story. The last one really got me. It's such a great poem overall. Thanks for the challenge hehe :] Keep writing!
:D

thanks for pointing out the typo. believe it or not I actually proofread this. I guess I missed that.
