Always remember
that you are beautiful.
You are smart.
You are amazing.
You are unique.
You are brave.
You are loved.
And those scars that you have,
Visible or not
,
Look at them and say,
"I am stronger now."
Always remember
to just be you.

This poem is really nice because, is trying to make everyone feel happy about themselves. because it has a meaning to all of us people are not perfect because us we try to be perfect and be like others. Perfect does not exist and everyone should try to be comfortable just the way they are. Adding on this poem can make someone day by reading this reminding them that they are special in their own way. Also that their is no one else like them.

A lovely poem. A poem doesn't have to be artsy, or to have complex vocabulary. Sometimes all it takes is a genuine feeling and an emotion you want to share. The most important aspect of great poetry is a great message with beautiful words. Simplicity is often lovely and your array of simple sentences has captured my imagination. I think its a lovely and sincere poem that could save a life.

Hey :)
I just screwed up posting this review three times because I'm apparently unable to actually pay attention to what I'm doing. So you now have the same review written three different ways as replies to several different people. Aren't you lucky. I considered giving up and making less of a fool of myself, but I really wanted to give you this review.

I have my own experience with scars that remind me how far I've come, and how much stronger I have gotten. It sounds like you have your own experience of scars too. However, I think there is much more to that experience than what you have written here.

Sometimes, for a poem to be successful, it has to explore something to a greater depth, explore an experience that isn't common to everybody. What you've written here is beautiful, it's fine, but I just think there is something more interesting behind it. What else do the scars mean? What is the emotionally complex meaning? I don't think you've written 'simply, a bad poem', and I don't think you need to include more poetic features like similes and personification. That stuff isn't important. What's important is that you give us something real. Give us a little bit of you.

Hey there! For your first poem this is VERY nice indeed.
I personally like the way this poem flows and I also like the way you make it short and to the point, not making any room for mistakes at all. The listing of things, I find, is effective as they're almost portrayed as simple things to live by.
I love the message behind the poem though, it's so clear and positive. A lot of folk say it's overused, and I can totally see their points, but when you're writing it, it just comes to you the easiest and is just a good emotion to write about. That's my experience anyway XD
Love this though, great work. :D

Is this a list of things you should do or is it a poem? It's like you gathered a bunch of cliches running around facebook and slopped them down calling it poetry. The easiest emotion to portray is distant emotion and that is all you have here. It's cliche, washed up words said over and over again hoping to portray some kind of response, I doubt you even care what that response is. In this whole poem you dictated what the reader should believe in without establishing credibility. You didn't tell a story or a tried and true method, you didn't even make it emotional by using metaphors or even imagery. All you brought up was scars letting the reader handle what they choose to see, not what you see when you look at a scar. And also, that might just be one of the top ten cliches even imaginable when thinking about poetry. Why not come up with somethings that's yours or original?

But seriously, try harder if you want to write something GOOD. This poem needs originality and imagery, metaphors , similes, personification, something to make it interesting or the least bit emotional. It is dull with flat words and simply, a bad poem in my opinion. That doesn't mean that you are a bad writer especially if you are new to writing, just keep trying and try harder

Hey! ajruby12 here for a quick review!

All right, so I often review poetry and so I get to see a lot of works, and most of them don't use punctuation. I'm of the impression that at least some should go in, but what you have might be a little much. All the periods after:
"You are smart.
You are amazing.
You are unique.
You are brave.
You are loved." You might consider changing them to commas or semi-colons. Or you could leave them out, but that's the writer's choice.
Now, I really love the sincerity that's put into a pretty short poem. Even though it doesn't rhyme, it conveys a strong message and I really appreciate that. Keep up the good work!

Hey! This poem was really well done :) It kind of reminds me of what Aibileen says to May Mobley in The Help!

A few things to point out...

The great thing about poetry is that you don't need to use proper punctuation, it's entirely up to you if you want to or not but sometimes it is needed.

For the first line "Always remember" I would either put a comma or ellipsis. I think it would make it flow better but that's just my opinion.

Also I wouldn't uppercase the v in "Visible", because you have a comma there is no need to use an uppercase letter.

I would personally put a period after "not", I think that "And those scars, visible or not" is a strong enough sentence to be on it's own.

After "say" I would use a colon or a semicolon, just because you are stating something next. A comma would work too, but I just think a colon or semicolon would work better.

Please do not think because of this that I don't like your poem because I do! It's very well written and moving. The things that I've pointed out are only grammar nitpicks and I've only pointed them out to help you :)

I will definitely be looking for more of your writing! Keep up the great work :)

Maybe what most people wanted wasn't immortality and fame, but the reassurance that their existence had meant something. No matter how long... or how brief. Maybe being eternal meant becoming a story worth telling.
