Dear Sanity

by GoaGreena

Dear Sanity,
I'm sorry you have to leave so abruptly
and I cannot say you will be missed,
but our time together was much too long
and now I'm much too free
to bother with you now.

You were always such a strain,
such a great burden to bear,
but now you've gone, off my shoulders
and I can dream once more.

As a child you sucked me in,
eager for the world
but now I've seen it and I must say
it's simply not for me.

So I will say what I like
whenever I decide
and I will live my own life
no matter who denies.

So, Sanity, my former friend,
I must ask you to leave.
Because I don't have time any more
to waste away with you.

I LOVED this poem. I like how you kind of wrote it in more of a letter form than a poem, but it still flows nicely. Also, I can relate to it and think many other people would agree that it is easy to relate to. It is also very funny and cute! I want to give you some constructive criticism, but I honestly have none, so good job!

I wouldn't think "impossible" was even in your vocabulary.
