This is a start to a story I'm writing. :) Please read and I hope you like itt!! :D

Once upon a time there was a beautiful girl who lived in a town beside the forest. Formerly the town had been a peaceful one and thousands of people had come from all around the world to see it. Each summer the Honeybah birds came, and then went as each winter arrived. But soon an eerie presence filled the land and the people didn’t come back. And eventually, the trees lay dead and quiet, empty of the beautiful singing Honeybah birds.

No one could explain how, but the people began disappearing one by one into the woods. Everyone began to fear the forest and so the people built a wall to block out the dark creatures that lurked behind it. And every full moon, somewhere in the distance was the howl of a wolf, heartbroken and alone.

But the girl’s grandmother lived in the wood and she worried often about her. She knew that if she asked her mother to see her she would never be allowed to go. The only way, she decided, was to sneak out. And so that Halloween, while all the other parents and children were busy she pulled out a red cloak and tied it so it hid her face with a hood. When she was sure no one was watching, she slinked behind the wall and into the night.

The world behind the wall was nothing she could have expected. All she could see proved that the villagers were wrong. A path of flowers that she faintly recognised as Lilly-Bells glowed a dim violet colour. Great trees with roots that sprouted from the ground soared into the sky and seemed never-ending. A soft summer breeze blew and her hair flew tenderly around her neck. The moment was so perfect that the girl didn’t even notice the looming figure in the darkness. The Lilly-Bells turned gray and withered and a shower of dead dry leaves fell from the trees. It was then the hooded girl knew something was wrong.

She turned and scrambled for the wall but a cold hand found her throat. She tried to scream but the hand moved to cover her mouth. Her hood fell and she looked up to see a smiling man as pale as the moon itself. And as quick as it came her fear deteriorated and she found herself smiling back. But still there was a nudging feeling, right at the back of her head telling her that she should run. The man released his hands and the girl stuttered on her feet.

“Where are you going, child?” The pale man asked.

The girl’s eyebrows creased and she thought she ought not to tell him. But the words spilt out of her lips against her will.

“To grandmother, she lives near the brook.”

The man rubbed his chin and considered this. Then he beamed down on her and she returned a dazed grin.

“Then I will see you soon,” he said and touched her cheek. And then he was gone and a flood of warmth returned back into the wood. And the girl continued towards her grandmother’s along the path of withered Lilly-Bells.

HEYY! xD
I just realised you have a very "story-telling" kind of way of writing, if you know what i mean:P or maybe its just cuz of the little red riding hood theme in it. Anyway i like it, it makes it easy to follow and the story clearer yet it still has that mysterious bit about it. I hope you write more:D

This is how your story should look. I liked it. It was very interesting, like a rewriting of Little Red Riding Hood. Your writing style intrigued me, and I was scared for the girl as the figure descended upon her, and the like..

It was a fun read, I hope you will expand on it. Learn to space your work, or to edit it when you find out that it's weirdly spaced. I almost didn't read it for that reason. This was a nice read.

Hope this helped,
