This Poem is Called the Greatest Love Poem Ever and I Apologize in Advance Because it Isn’t

Whoever dares to write a love poem about you must write the greatest love poem ever written or not write at all.
Also if someone was capable of writing “The Greatest Love Poem Ever” they must write it about you or never write it at all.
Let me put it this way:

The Greatest Love Poem Ever would probably not have a beginning, an end, a chorus, or a bridge and maybe no verses or lines at all.
It could be a mess that begins in the middle of a sentence,
Then ends with a preposition.
A loud shout that comes out of nowhere,
or a whisper that is only heard if everyone stopped breathing for a while.

Either way, because of you, the author’s heartbeats had already made a sound loud enough for its waves to hit the boundaries of the extending universe and echo for eternity even if the source stops beating.
And there would never be enough silence in the universe for people to hear what he completely wrote.

The Greatest Love Poem Ever would sound so good that the ring of it would awaken Lennon, Freddy Mercury, and bloody Mozart and make them resurrect their instruments and compete on who can compose a melody damn good enough to be played as background music while the poem is read.
Yet no music would be good enough to interrupt The Greatest Love Poem Ever.

For The Greatest Love Poem Ever would sound like the holy mess that would occur if the blasphemous voices in your head signed themselves up in the choir of a church.

The Greatest Love Poem Ever is going to be a biblical cheesy mess;
So full of metaphors and clichés that were wrongfully used to describe people who weren’t you.
because you…
you really do have eyes (GOD BLESS) that resemble the reflection of moonlight on an ocean.
the way you sound is like the way a person would sound if god forged their vocal chords out of stars.
And sometimes I happen to wonder if god dipped his brush in the shades of your skin to color mahogany, rosewood and ebony trees.
And I know…
I know this not an exaggeration because if you look close enough you can see that the strokes of his brush look so much like your eyelashes.

And I’m afraid I’m not yet lost enough in you to write the Greatest Love Poem Ever…
So I want you to drown me in your existence and sink every ship I ever anchored close to those ports beneath your eyelids.
I want you to stick your fingers between my ribs and release whatever I hold a prisoner in that cage and clean it up.
I also want you to entwine your hand around mine and lead me into a maze from which I can never escape.
Stare into my eyes in all the right ways so no wrong can come out of my mouth.
Redecorate me wholly, and build me up, so that one day it would be I that writes about you...
The Greatest Love Poem Ever.

This is honestly one of the greatest things I have ever read and I read good books. In my opinion this is better then the love between Percy and Annabeth, Ron and Hermione, Sherlock and Watson. I think that this needs to be out there and it needs to be heard. You have a wonderful gift in writing and you need to use it. However I think you nailed how no one can make the greatest love poem ever because everyone's love is different. Percy and Annabeth's parents tried to destroy each other on multiple occasions. Ron and Hermione went through a war together and watched too many of their friends and family die. Sherlock and Watson have the fact that they are best friends, with only slight homosexual undertones. You have a wonderful gift and you need to use that. Keep writing.

Heya! Nica here for a review! First off, I'd like to say that when I clicked on this, I was fully expecting a sappy romance poem all about how you could never love another, yada yada. But, I was pleasantly surprised. This is great!

I love how you spend most of the poem saying that no one can write the Greatest Love Poem Ever but I think that you came pretty darn close here. The piece flows very well and hits an emotional chord. Great Job! I look forward to seeing more of your work. :)

I love this poem's flow because it's messy and choppy, yet it flows like a river. Love poems can just be a sappy mess with all their metaphors. But I believe this poem embraces those sappy metaphors and spins them into something wonderful. I especially love the humor in the title and in the part about the eyes. Also the part about the church choir makes me chuckle because it reminds me of the choir at my church. Overall this poem is written very well. The only thing I could think to change would be the ending say something like, "Only in a insane world could I write for you, The Greatest Love Poem Ever" because I just get lost in the second to last line of the poem. But in my eyes this is definitely The Greatest Love Poem Ever.

Hey,
wohow, the poem is really awesome. It has been really chaotic and messy like you have stated the most beautifull love poem should be. The poem has covered all the blind admiration that a lover has for his love, rather, his true love;and all his first wishes. It's really a poem that defines the blindness as well as innocence of a true lover and his devotion towards his love. Really, it's one of the best romantic poems i've read and should remember.
However, i think, giving a worthy title to this beautiful poem should add to its beauty.
Best wishes dear. :-)
