Raindrops

E - Everyone

In Broken book

PreviousNext

People say that they hate rain

And they say I'm insane

I try to save each raindrop as they fall

But I run to a wall.

People don't care if they fall to the ground

It seems the raindrops are towns

They fall, they die

At all, I lie

When I run they sigh.

Hey there, FillinFaye (can I just go just with Faye?)~

I must be short due to things offline life demands me to do in a few minutes, but I just wanted to stop by and say a few words. This was a cute poem, I must say, and I quite like how different generations could understand it differently - it would be a nice, easy-to-memorise poem for kids, and yet it has a deeper meaning if one reads it carefully enough :3

Though I must admit that I'm not too fond of this kind of rhyming, because it seems a bit forced and like it's more there for the purpose of having a rhyme than anything else, I quite like it here if you were aiming for what I mentioned above. It looks to me like a poem to follow a person as they grow up, and I think that gives it a special kind of charm ^^

Now I must run, but I shall keep stalking for more poems!

Cheers,
Aria~

hellloooo.........here to review your poem....I quite liked the symbolism of rain that you have employed....However, I felt the poem too randomized...different things forcefully attempted to connect and this kind of broke the knot of flow of the poem....But still, the last five lines are commendable...it lifts up the mood a bit....the urge to save the falling town.....the symbolism comes into play quite interestingly in these lines....

I think that you could have done something more to the poem...it is short and simple, but it lacked the flow that one expects from a poem...the first two lines talks about people's attitude towards rain, they hate it....and the 5th lines goes on to speak of their indifference towards it....if you could have made these two into consecutive lines and alter some of the lines in sequence then i think the meaning would have come out more clearly and vibrantly...and playing with words is another instrument that i think you can play to make your poem sound more interesting if you want to keep it short...otherwise, it is a good write, and thanks for sharing...

I quite liked it, to be honest. Although it was a little random, I liked how you managed to write the raindrops as people and towns; and how them 'sighing' could mean utterly anything; wind, rain, downpour.
I don't know what a few things could mean 'running to a wall' and 'raindrops are towns'. I can tell it was a spur of the moment, came straight out and onto paper like thing. I do quite like this though, so keep going. :)

Ummm...Okay. That was kind of strange. It confused me but it seemed to rhyme well.
I like that it seems that you covered a lot of stuff in such a short poem.
Yeah, there were some good spots. The beginning was good, for example. Then I got confused after the first sentence. it seemed like you were putting random things together.
I'm trying not to criticize you too harshly, but seriously. That was confusing.
Anyway, thanks for the read!

I did'nt work hard on it. It may seem weird.

When she transformed into a butterfly, the caterpillars spoke not of her beauty, but of her weirdness. They wanted her to change back into what she always had been. But she had wings.
