Welcome to the Dark

Welcome to the place to see
A shadow of what used to be
A place where broken hearts collide
And drown themselves in cyanide.

Welcome to this wretched place
Where insecurities breed a brand new race
A type obsessed with its own destruction
And torn apart by death's seduction.

Welcome to the holy ground
Where no one's shrieking makes a sound.
Here is where the story warps
Inside the throat of a lonely corpse.

Welcome to this sorrowed life
Another day, another knife
A knife to rip yourself alive
A wound in which the demons thrive.

You're welcome here inside the dark.
Leave behind your dimming spark.
Just let the monster run its course.
You're safer here inside the hearse.

Nice poem! First of all the voice in this piece is the most powerful. It was solemn and it had a hint of solitude. I also love your poetic diction. It made the imagery of the poem fascinating for the reader to conjure in his/her imagination. I also love the tone and mood. It truly depicted darkness. I love your style. It's distinct and rare. Keep it up!

Wow I loved this but I have a really funny story. So the other day I read this piece and I was like oh my god this is amazing so I liked it but didn't have time to review and just now I was going through posts and I clicked on this one. Not remembering that I already read it, I was awash with amazment because I loved it so much. Then I proceeded to press the like button and saw that I already liked it along with already reading it so I thought it a sign from above to review this piece. So I will review this once my brother's baseball game is over and I hope you can wait for that because you deserve a good thought out review from me, I haven't done a extensive review in a while. Review you later, Thanks!
Peace,
Snickerdooly

Thank you guys.

I found this poem absolutely brilliant. I was awe-struck the whole while. I wished I could write like you. You set the mood, your rhymes were perfect and you dazzled a newbie like me. Just one tiny infinitesimal thing though, maybe I'm being being too finicky or maybe I'm just plain old wrong so please excuse me. In the fourth stanza, you wrote:

"Welcome to this sorrowed life
Another day, another knife
A knife to rip yourself alive
A wound in which the demons thrive."

I don't think there's such a word as 'sorrowed'. Maybe you can replace it with 'sorrowful'.

Thanks, and goodbye.

I LOVE this. 'nuff said. It's dark and bautiful. This is the kind of poems I thrive to read.

I think it was written very nicely and flowed very well. I also like the repitition of it all. and the vocab.

Here are my thoughts throughout the poem:

Welcome to the place to see
A shadow of what used to be
A place where broken hearts collide Like modern society
And drown themselves in cyanide. Love this, great line

Welcome to this wretched place
Where insecurities breed a brand new race like a product of doubts
A type obsessed with its own destruction
And torn apart by death's seduction.

Welcome to the holy ground
Where no one's shrieking makes a sound. love this. silence hurts the most
Here is where the story warps
Inside the throat of a lonely corpse. LOVE IT

Welcome to this sorrowed life
Another day, another knife
A knife to rip yourself alive
A wound in which the demons thrive.

You're welcome here inside the dark.
Leave behind your dimming spark. Become like everyone else; grim
Just let the monster run its course.
You're safer here inside the hearse.

sorry if I scked the life out of this poem (no pun intended) But I absolutely loved this. please keep writing :)
