You feel like you are falling,
And that no one would really care,
Yet you don't want to hurt anyone,
So you use that fake smile that you always wear.
You try to hide it,
But you want someone to know,
And it gets harder everyday,
Trying not to let it show.
You try new things,
To keep your thoughts at bay,
But as your days get shorter,
You know that your world is slowly turning gray.
You then begin to think,
About what your friends would do,
But you stop yourself,
Thinking that you'll eventually pull through.
You know that it's getting worse,
So you decide to have a talk,
And they listen as you speak,
But you start to have a mental block.
You lie and cut your words short,
Telling them half but not the whole,
So you walk yourself home,
Swallowed by your dreary death toll.
You hear their laughs,
And you let them bring you down,
Your anger begins to rise,
And on the inside you slowly breakdown.
You know that you have to change,
Since your life is all up to you,
But it's so hard to be like,
All these people you truly look up to.
You struggle to speak,
Always haunted by the possibility,
Of being turned away,
So you disappear, hiding within your cloak of invisibility. You then begin to think,
That there is no silver lining,
So you lock up your future,
And then go back to hiding.
You feel like you are falling,
But just to let you know,
There will always be someone,
To catch you down below.
Your presence in this world,
It's changed quite a lot,
People wouldn't be the same,
Without the input of your thought.
So carry on,
And don't give out,
Don't let this world win,
You will pull through without a doubt.
It can't go on forever,
You won't always fall,
Just know that people do care,
They'll help you through it all.
And please understand,
That there are others just like you,
Don't ever forget,
That they know just what you're going through.
Don't close your eyes,
And don't fall asleep,
Stay awake until the sun rises,
Then set yours troubles aside in this great big heap.
There will be a day,
When you can breathe a sigh of relief,
And you'll look back today,
Happy you let go of all that grief.
There is a future,
That so called silver lining,
You just have to wait for it,
It's somewhere out there shining.
Don't let go,
And don't give up,
No matter what they all say,
Just keep your head up.
So cast away all your burdens,
Your sadness and depression,
Don't let them hold you back,
Because you will break free from this suppression.
Don't die now,
No not ever,
There will be a day when you will be caught,
You will say goodbye to this stormy weather.

I hate to admit that oftentimes I cannot focus on poetry unless it rhymes. And usually rhyming poems are a little more... childish. Somehow though you've managed to give a serious voice while rhyming. Truly inspiring! It speaks to me, and probably others, on so many lovers. Really, truly inspirational. Keep writing!!!

Just wanted to say also.... Sometimes the long lines to short lines break the flow a little.
Great, beautiful poem on the whole.
Thanks for this
Deadman here with a review for you today. This is your first poem? I wouldn't have ever been able to guess. My first poem is so miserable it's not even funny. Mine was short and bad, yours is great and incredibly long! It's really a great poem too. I'm amazed at how well it was written. I also clicked on it because I read a book of poems called Falling Up by Shel Silverstein. It was great, and rather humorous to me. Yours was really great, and not a bit of humor in it at all. I can see that this is a serious poem, and probably a little personal.
My first thoughts;
I originally thought you had stalked my life three years ago and wrote about it. You really summed up what someone goes through when they are in a situation as stated above. Really, a great job. I was also a little surprised when, (excuse the pun) things changed and the mood went up. Rather than staying a depressing sad topic, you turned and headed the other direction saying it was going to be okay. Most poems I read on this topic don't do that.
Pros-
1. Great flow, no trippy areas.
2. You really grasped the concept and explained it in your poem.
3. I'm not finding any grammar issues.
Okay I can't think of any Cons, this is a great poem. Like I said I never would have guessed it was your first. Great job and I can't wait to see more from you. I hope I helped out, and until next time, happy writing!
It's good. I like how you've expressed yourself. I can hardly tell this is your first poem, you've done a good job. Looking forwards to reading more.

Keep it up!
