C'est la vie

Life goes on the same

Life goes on...

Each day and every night

Life goes on...

To those in utter penury

And to those in obvious fame

Oh yes! Life goes on just the same

All roam in crowded streets

All watch ahead and have plenty meets

Some take the laborious road

Some forever are lost in a joyous mode

But once in a while

Somethings grip our heart

Pull it down and give us the blues

We fight, we struggle, to resist, to avoid

And to emerge out ...to rise above

These very disturbing hues...

Time’s like these

A babe’s innocent eyes

And it’s guileless smile

Is enough to lift one’s soul

Enough to remake it

Put it back together...

Together as a whole...

One look at the infinite sky

Will remind one of the Almighty high

And the burdened spirit thus be set free

All the knowledge and all the wisdom gained is but to see

Life’s quest to find this lost key

And thus as the sun sets behind

the canopy of mighty trees

As dusk takes over the day

Each shall sleep, each shall rest

The poor in the wretchedness

The rich in their gilded beds

The unknown in the dark

A few safe in their lurk

But each shall dream

Some of wicked pleasure,

Some of vileless joys

Because there’s always a tomorrow

To look forward to...

Because everyone has a future...

A future...that is their own...

That is theirs alone...

Oh! Life goes on the same

The enlightened shall see the truth;

The truth being their salvation

The blinded many shall be lost in their lives

Netted and caught

In a vortex of nothing and naught

But, Oh yes! Life goes on...

Life goes on the same...

I applaud you for writing on such a 'open' topic such as life. You had a very clear vision for the poem and it showed in the length and how you made use of technique. I absolutely loved the dichotomy within the realm of the poem, but as well as within and between stanzas. The closing stanza is my favourite:
"Oh! Life goes on the same
The enlightened shall see the truth;
The truth being their salvation
The blinded many shall be lost in their lives
Netted and caught
In a vortex of nothing and naught
But, Oh yes! Life goes on...
Life goes on the same..."

I am not entirely sure, but it also feel that there is some religious aspect within the poem which you just subtly (very nicely done btw) brought into the poem, which is really cool.

I loved the piece!

I really admire the plain truth in this poem. And the way you prolonged your poem to take your meaning further, in the sense that life goes on.
I also noticed that your poem can be taken more than one way. Like how it could seem to be talking about moving on, or being stuck in an endless routine. Your obviously talking about both, so I'm thinking that you're trying to portray the fact that we can move on, but most of us don't, and we get caught in routine and we take things for granted and we slowly spiral down, down, down, down... Down, and down and Dow- okay, you get the picture.
So, um, anyway, I didn't see anything wrong with this except for its mild repetitiveness. And I hope to read more of your work.
My rating:4.99*s

Keep it up!
