A Memoir

Growing so fast, we all watch her shine.
Everywhere you look, we all wish to dine.
A face so pretty, a voice so pure.
She has much to be envied, especially her cure.

A life full of rules, she wanders astray.
She meets a guy, blessing every day.
Together they bind, happy in love.
Until one day, there is no dove.

Bonded no more, she sets sail afar.
Finally free, but still looking in the jar.
Memories haunt, they torment, they please.
Scars from the past, she now wishes to ease.

Searching to answer, "Why's" and "How come's."
She's slowly unwinding, coming undone.
The road ends soon, she's finally awake.
She's hoping and praying, this isn't a mistake.
