http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexperience/features/photo-gallery/crash/---my poem is based on the 7th picture, the one of two men standing on a plane.
--
"Wind"
Silver platter streets watch as
up climbs a plane, rugged and bare.
All rickety wings and rusted tails--
made slippery with rushing wind.
You stand on this surface,
crude and dangerous. You are
air, spinning through wind like a top
on a playground.
Howling cries of angry trees
send shivers of freezing breath.
But you spread your arms wide
and tiptoe ahead:
a God in a world of adventure.
And somehow it seems
that this just it.
Joy floods through your limbs and out
through your skin.
For in a life that's too short,
what else can you do?

wow, i wish there was a 'love' option because this poem is truly devine. The way you describe the wind, the way you give it life and feeling truly ignites something in me and I cannot help but say BRAVO!
your talent is amazing. I urge you to keep it up!to continue on on this artistic path.Bravo!

I love the imagery for this poem. You give the wind life in a way that many have tried and failed to do. When I read this poem I could imaging standing outside and the wind holing through the trees or it blowing softly across something like a beach or in the street. I enjoyed this a lot
I loved it. It was very well executed. You almost covered all of the points which the picture shows to us.
Very good use of vocabulary. Awesome word selection.
Keep up the great work.
This is fantastic, amazing use of metaphors. You capture emotions perfectly, get a damn good publishing deal.
