Dear reader,
You read this,
expecting something great.
But to be honest,
I am nothing,
I will never be important.
No one will remember me after death,
My name will never be in the history books,
For we all are insignificant.

Hey friend! First of all, I love short poems because they always accomplish so much and so little amount of words. That's exactly what you did here. Let's not waste any time, and let's jump right into the review!
fantastic work, and keep on writing!
To begin, we start by saying "dear reader" so right away, we can tell that the speakers speaking directly to us. That builds very personal feeling right from the start. I love that! Then you move on to talk about us, reading this poem, expecting something that is great. I love how you're describing exactly what is happening in my mind as I read this. Like I said, it adds this very personal feeling. It's almost like in plays when the actors break the fourth wall, sometimes to create this scene of magic where we're actually right there with them.
But then it seems to take a turn, when you say "I am nothing". The speaker talks about not being important, and that no one will ever remember them, and how insignificant they are, which really makes it a lot more sad, compared to how it started. I like that contrast though. We expect something amazing when we open a poem but instead you receive something that is someone sharing how they feel. I think this is symbolic of a lot of what we expect in poetry honestly. We expect to see some thing amazing, but it's honestly honestly probably something that we have read many times before or something that's very cliché. what I love about this palm is that it's very unique and not something that we normally see. Although it has an ending, that many would see it sad, honestly I don't think it's that sad. You use a sadder tone, but you speak something that is true to a lot of people. But I think you were saying, is that maybe you won't be remembered like a hero, but I think you will still make a difference. I love how observant you are to life and the ability to be unique, and stand out like this.
Overall, I love the short poem
Your friend,
Ellie
Thank you so much :3

brutal? are you kidding me? people need to hear this! unfortunately, the best books are the ones who are never get bought. this might sound like my last review, I'm sorry, but my train of thought is going in the same direction. and even if your name goes down in the history books, there is always someone who will never know who you are, and someday, you simply will no longer be remembered by anyone. no one at all. even the first president is not known by the Asians or the Australians because they have no business in knowing who is the first president of the USA, and maybe no one knows about another man beside Neil Armstrong because he snuck on the ship, borrowed a suit, and he was truly the first one who walked the moon. you never know. but in the end, you are right. we are all just tiny humans with no actual value. think about it. all that we have created, does it really matter? is it really that advanced? what if the sun would freeze over? none of us would really matter, would we? and there is always something bigger and more powerful than us, and lets face it, we don't have claws, or teeth, and we are not very large (unless our food intake says otherwise but you know what I mean. we are not as big as the blue whale) and the saddest part is is that someone might remember you after death, but even you too would be forgotten. so why not try to become friends with someone who would remember you until their last breath? religiously, even. that is the best that you could hope for.
sorry if this wasn't much of a review. got lost in my thought for a moment. have a good day!
Thank you!
yeah! again, sorry if it was a bit weird. I know reviews are more of a critical point, rather than advice or talking about it.
No no I loved it! I kinda wish more reviews was like this
I prefer to talk to the reader about the work and why I agree or disagree with it rather than go over grammar mistakes or how a word feels off. its not about the work, its about the feelings (and this is coming from a review procrastinator)
Yeah, i completely agree
glad to know that someone appreciates the way that I write ^^
Ofc! :3333
