Stereotypical teenager
What do you see adults, what do you see?
What do you think when you look at me?
You see a boy, causing trouble,
You see a boy about to burst your bubble,
You think I set a bad example for the kids,
And that I go out at night and make expensive bids,
You think I smoke, maybe take drugs,
And at night hang out with messed-up thugs
You bet I play X-box all night and day
And in my free time go out and stay away
No adults, that's what you shouldn't see!
Look, adults, look closer, see ME

I think that my own poem needs quite a lot of work if I want it to be near perfect!
Hey there! I think this is great, got a good rhythm to it and made me smile! Maybe think about the metre a little, some lines seem not to fit as well, they just need a syllable or two removed - lines such as "and in my free time go out and stay away".

Otherwise great! And I think the feedback you've had about the trouble with stereotyping could be easily resolved by a change of the title? If the title doesn't name the problem as stereotyping then you can't be accused of doing the same thing back. Of course though it's your poem, if you think changing the title would change the meaning and impact your trying to get across then don't in a million years do it!
All the best and I wanna see more
You make a good point about the folly of stereotyping teenagers, but you stereotype adults while your at it. Perhaps you could include counter-examples to the stereotypical behavior you believe is expected of you. I really like the first two lines, but I think the rhyme in the sixth line is a bit forced. Nice job!
In attacking the stereotyping of teenagers, you stereo type adults. Not a criticism, just an observation. Also, I think part of the reason adults think teenagers all smoke and do drugs is because that's exactly what they did when they were teens.
I really like this, because (in most cases) that's what adults see when they look at teenagers. They see a hooligan who doesn't know what they're doing; a trouble maker that wants nothing more than to ruin your day. I like this because most adults stereotype teenagers this way and you're shouting out that you're not like that. And a lot of kinds are NOT like this, but those who are give everyone else that bad reputation. I like how you tell them what they see, and then demand that they see YOU, and not the rest of your generation. Nice work.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
I liked it, but I think it could've been beefed up, and it definitely could've been stronger. While I say this, I could also see me writing this up. Maybe not this, but something similar; sometimes in simplicity we find the deepest meaning, right?
This doesn't really strike much with me, mostly because I really do like to break stereo types, and I have never really been a troublemaker, at least, not until recently. However, I do connect with the last line, though, not just with adults, but with everyone. I hate it when I feel like someone despises me, although, right now, I'm living with one. Anyways, it's a good start; I'm sure you'll get better as time goes on! ^^
This is very, how to say? Dead on, I really like it. The rhyme scheme here is very good, definitly makes the poem more interesting. All tho I do often see no periods or coma's at the end of the last five lines, also I do believe you could have done more. Maybe also involved what a stereotypical maybe like, I could make a few connections between what a teenage boy and girl would be doing. Also you could have involved alcohal also, not just drugs, there's always more you could have added more here. I definitly believe you could have. But this has been your review, this is LoyalHeart Signing off, have a nice day!
