As I float above heartaches that aren’t my own,
I intend to sooth the pounding pains
Running through the vessels and veins
Of those who entrust me not only with their names.
So I fish for experience that is not in my tenure,
And as it is gathered, I allot to establish
An aiding museum, a display of guidance
-the act of generosity, an easy donation.
For when tears are shed on top of my shoulders
And the reason for despair intrudes my ears
I pat the back and shake the hand in which appears
A ticket I have been supplying all these years.
It granting entrance for them to perceive
The enthralling collection of my priced possessions.
And as my visitors give and take what they must,
I get reminded, I merely exhibit an assembly of trust.

Thank you for the reviews guys, yes I've been struggling with the rhyme scene myself, but after a couple of tries I decided to give up on it and leave it unorganized like that. I'm glad that only slightly affected the whole poem. Thanks again.
I enjoyed it a lot. Aside from the different rhyming schemes I liked and understood the poem well. Everyone is a therapist at sometime and I honestly believe that your poem shows what being there is really like. Although, I think it would have been nice to have a little more emotion as the therapist in there. Just a little

Nice poem, Ive never seen one written on this topic so you defiantly get kudos for originality. Not only have you written about a original topic but done it quite well.
overall a great stanza but the rhyming and flow seems a little stunted, maybe the triple rhyme was a little to much, not really sure.No ovious rhyme, strange since there was a lot of it in the first stanza, love your voice though, seems intelligent as if an actual counselor or psychologist was speaking.
The rhythm and rhyme are a lot clearer here, very nice stanza. I love the last line.
Again you have changed the rhyimg patter, personally I like a structured pattern to tie a whole poem together, although I don't really think you need this since your poem is put together well it would be nice to give it some regularity. The finishing line here is also great, really lives the reader thinking
Overall this is a nice poem with a great voice and personality. The rhythm and rhyme seem a little off at times. The rhymes do not seem to be forced but they don't entirely fit in either, its quite strange but you have really created a revealing and interesting poem that has left me really thinking.
Great work!
This was quite good, but the varying rhyme scheme really bugged me because it made the poem feel a little stop-startish.
Aside from that little note, you kept to your theme, you had a good meter throughout, and the poem carried some sort of weight to it, which really made it stand out. I'm your friendly neighbourhood psychologist as well, so I know how you feel.
I've been contemplating going into counseling, and I imagine it would be just as you've described. Except more crying, tissues, and a big fluffy pillow.
That's the scary part for me. Opening up. Which is weird because on YWS I kind of do....a bit.Brilliant work! Look forward to reading more!
