Show Me the Way

Yeah, I know there's not really any rhythm or rhyme or anything... but, I was just experimenting. So, be harsh, but not critical, k? I mean, if you hate it, by all means let me know, but please tell me why! Savvy?

I sat with a pen in my hand
and paper on my desk
and the desire to make a stand,
to make a difference.

Yet I got the sense,
that my life,
that my words,
would do nothing.

My existence has been stuck
between worlds,
as I try to push through the muck
and find
my own burning bush,
my own truth,
my revelation
of the purpose of my creation.

Day after day
I search;
I try to find the only one way
to shine for others- be a light,
to press on and win the fight.

And sometimes,
sometimes I feel lost,
burried in my own sin and crimes,
caught in death's cold hand of frost.

But there is hope ahead;
though there's pain
I'm not dead,
and in my soul there's a fire
that will push up
through the rain,
and make truth come
from the mouth of this liar.

So I keep on listening
for the long awaited ring
of my Saviour's call,
His love, His assurance
that I will not fall,
but will be lifted,
blessed by His deliverance,
healed and fixed and strengthened,
made talented and gifted,
placed in His hand
with the honour to stand
with Him until the end.

I'll fix my eyes on Him
each and every day,
and He, He will show me the way.

I really like this poem. I find it really neat that you express your faith. I see a great longing for God in this poem. I know this is a short comment, but Thank you, this poem was inspiring.

I loved these stanzas of your poem. They have so much meaning and live in them, it inspires me. It makes me glad that you have so much faith in God. I'm not even sure if I can give you any advice on how to change it. I feel proud that I'm your partner for our story even though we haven't technically started yet.
