Amy and her sister had just gotten into Caroline’s new room when she couldn’t hold it in any more.
“Well that was the worst Welcome-to-the-Neighborhood-Gift I’ve ever received,” she said as she sat on Caroline’s bed.
“It’s the only welcome-to-the-neighborhood-gift we’ve ever received,” Monica said sitting down next to her sister. Amy looked around Caroline’s new room.
It was painted pink, Caroline’s favorite color. Caroline’s bed had a pink silky comforter and she had a pink canopy over her head. The bed had an iron head board and foot board, as Monica called it. Caroline had a wooden nightstand that she always had next to her bed. Caroline’s white bed, with matching desk and dresser, was against the wall with the door. Her desk was across the room to the right of a window and window seat. Caroline had a large book shelf that went half way up the wall next to her window seat. Caroline’s dresser was next to her closet. Caroline had already put her clothes inside her dresser but hadn’t gotten to the closet yet. On top of her dresser Caroline had pictures of the family and her friends from back in their old town. She also had pictures of Lacy, the family’s golden retriever dog. The floor was a soft white rug and in the middle of the room Caroline’s boxes of things.
Caroline shut the door and walked over to her first box she took out a bunch of posters rolled up. She took out a long sock and tape. She unrolled the first poster, a Pirates of the Caribbean one, and taped it up on her closed door.
“Well it doesn’t matter if they want to be considered enemies that’s fine with me,” Caroline another poster and grabbed sock full of tacks. She pulled her desk chair over next to her nightstand and stood on it.
“That goes for me two,” said Amy crossing her arms, “They’d better not cause trouble. I’m not interested in cleaning up their messes.”
“I’m with you,” Monica said. Because Monica and Amy where identical twins, they agreed on almost everything. Monica did dancing which none of the girls did except her but she taught her sisters lots of hip hop and lyrical moves. Monica did ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop and lyrical. Her favorites were hip hop and ballet.
“Whether they cause trouble or not I’m not doing anything to help them out. They probably won’t accept help from girls,” Caroline said hanging up another poster.
“Good,” said Amy, “because it’s not being offered.” All three Sanders looked at each other and nodded. That was one thing that was very true.
Caroline had hung up all her posters and opened a box of clothes she was ready to put into the closet. She walked over to the closet and opened the door. To Caroline’s surprise the door didn’t lead to a closet.
“It’s a bathroom,” she said, “And there is another door at the other end.” The Sanders looked at each other with surprise and walked to the other door. Amy opened it and was shocked at what it led to. The door led to Amy and Monica’s room.
“Whoa this is so sweet,” Amy said walking into her room, “We have our own bathroom. Sinks, bath tub, shower and all.” All of the girls where happy. Back in their old house the girl’s bathroom was small and not connected to any one’s bed room.
The girls quickly moved into their new bathroom. They placed in their bathrobes, three towels, shampoo, and conditioner, and their toothbrushes and toothpaste in it.
“Wait,” said Caroline, “This means that I don’t have a closet. Oh well I have room in my dresser for all my clothes.”
Amy flopped down on her bed. Amy and Monica’s room was blue and also had a window seat. Amy’s comforter and canopy were blue while Monica’s where green. They had a dresser and two small desks. Not to mention a small night stand in between their beds. They had one window seat covered in stuffed animals and pillows. They had one dresser with a mirror on top. They had split the dresser space in half so that they each got four drawers.
Yup, Amy knew it she was beginning to like this new house. Despite the fact that she now had enemies next door Amy was positive that she was going to like it living here.
