Riddle

Hello, this is my first poem posted on this site, and also my first riddle.
I will post the answer later-- For the riddle, read below:

I have got yellow sharp fangs;
I have got hard pointy claws;
My feet can run a distance;
And I am without any flaws.

I can be kept by humans;
I can live in a prairie;
But in whatever way I live,
I am wild and scary.

My bite can make you suffer;
It, sometimes, can make you die;
My stealth will go unnoticed;
Please, tell me what am I.

Please comment, review, and answer the riddle.

This was a very good riddle, and i spent a good five minutes trying to figure it out.

(Then i cheated and scrolled down to see if someone posted it). Until the claws part i thought it might be a snake, but overall it was a good riddle.

Hi everyone,
Thank you for reviewing and answering my poem/riddle.

The answer is: a cat (It can be a lion, a tiger, a leopard etc, but my intention was something like a housecat: I can be kept by humans;

It seems so, but fangs? I always assume that fangs are what snakes have, and the pointy teeth that dogs and vampires have should be called canines.

Yes, the teeth of dogs, vampires, and snakes are called fangs, and the teeth of dogs and cats are called canines. I'll try to change that stanza.

Thank you again, Juniper, Lydia, and AquaMarine.

Hey there!

Rhyme wise, I actually like it. The poem is kind of cute, so the occasional forced rhyme doesn't really matter to me. You've done a nice job with it. I have absolutely no idea what the answer is, though! I have this feeling that it's not actually an animal, but then again, I do suck at riddles! Well done!

Hey Baha, Juni here,

This is cute. I think you do nicely with rhyme here, and because this is a riddle, there's not much to criticize. Is this a lion, though? It seems so, but fangs? I always assume that fangs are what snakes have, and the pointy teeth that dogs and vampires have should be called canines. But, then again, I have a lot of odd impressions.

Nice job on the riddle,
June

Hello, Welcome to YWS!

Ok so first off I will talk about this as a poem. I liked it and I liked the rhythm. I found some of the rhyming to be a little forced such as 'prairie' and 'scary'. You need to work on that because in poetry we like a bit of rhyme but only if it sounds nice and fits in with the rest of the poem. You could use a rhyming dictionary to try to solve this. :D

Now the riddle, I'm not sure what you are talking about but then I have never really been much good at riddles so there you go. Umm it might be a lion but I don't know whether I get that impression from your picture. So i don't know. Please PM me otherwise I might lose sleep trying to work it out! :D

So overall I really liked this, it is a very good idea and one that I havn't seen previously on the site. So Well Done!

Keep Writing,
~Lydia :D
